Eight year old conditioner did not seem to cool the house down
very fast (4,000 sq.ft). Renato came, checked the unit and topped
up the refrigerant. Found nothing wrong. Checked all the registers
in the house. Came back next day with an associate who cut an
opening in the furnace duct to check to see if the coil was dirty.
Coil was OK. Cut and fitted a removal access panel for the duct.
Conclusion was that the Air Conditioner Unit was too small for the
size of the house. Renato apologized for not being able to improve
the cooling and only charged $150 for two visits including an
additional serviceman for the second visit. Apology was totally
unnecessary since there was nothing wrong with the unit itself,
other than being too small for the house.
