Two Small Men With Big Hearts

I hired these guys to move my son--they were very reasonable. Very punctual. They had to dismantle and set up some complicated furniture pieces. They ran out of time during the move to reassemble and volunteered to come back to finish the job. I offered more money to finish the job at another time but they insisted to do it at no extra cost and they completed everything. These guys are amazing and very responsive. Highly recommended

I hired Two Small Men with Big Hearts to move my mother and I from our current 3 bedroom home, to our new condo around the corner. The movers were scheduled for 9:00am and were not a minute late. They loaded up our house in a little over 2.5 hours with just the 2 of them. They wrapped and padded everything, nothing was missed. They then headed to our new condo. Our condo had 2 flights of stairs with a total of 28 steps, and not once did the movers grumble or make a fuss of where we wanted our stuff. They took the time to place everything where it was supposed to go and did the disassembly and reassembly of our dining room and kitchen table. Denis and Stacy were absolutely amazing and the most professional movers I have ever seen. Nothing was damaged and all of our items were delivered safely. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who is moving. Well worth the money spent. Thanks again guys! We couldn't have done it without you!!

On Wednesday June 19 the team of Dennis, Bob and William moved our house contents from Russell to Ottawa and were great to work with. They were very pleasant, professional, fast, efficient and very careful with the handling of our house contents. We had a number of antique pieces of furniture and they took great care to wrap and carefully move and secure all the pieces. Nothing was damaged and they did a great job and in great time. My husband and I hired Two Small Men to move our belongings from a rented apartment in Gatineau to our newly purchased house in Ottawa. Denis was a fairly quiet, no nonsense sort of guy and Wil was the funny man, cracking jokes all the way through. He took what was a really stressful day and relieved a bit of that stress with his humour. They took excellent care of our belongings, taking note of any boxes I had scrawled "fragile" or "nothing on top" on. I am supremely pleased with their service and would definitely recommend them! I especially like that they offer a small discount in cost if you move in the middle of the month.

This is my third move with Two Small Men. Twice locally in Toronto and this time moving to Vancouver. Every move has been exceptional. These guys are amazing and really do have big hearts.

the whole experience was handled very professionaly. once we made contact with Danny, he sent me a list of the the items to be moved and he gave me his price. they day of the move went very well, the guys were great and the price was added to my credit card as discussed. over all a great bunch of guys and will use them again when she moves home. thanks again. Needed to move within the city. The admin department made you feel good, knowing all was organized and set. The men showed up on time, worked fast, efficient and professional. Exceeding my expectations. Nothing broken and well done! Took 3 men and that made for the most efficient use of their time as well.

Our experience with this company was exceptionally good in every respect. The folks in the office, and the automated processes all worked flawlessly and without stress (unlike moving in general, which is nothing BUT stressful). The two men who packed for us were totally AWESOME...they were on time, fast, professional, and harder-working than I ever would have expected. They had that pod loaded up in 45 minutes. Wow! I
would recommend your company over any other in a heartbeat.

Owner refuses to communicate

The reason for the low rating is completely due to the lack of communication from the owner of the Ottawa location. We moved in January within Orleans and the movers themselves were ok (quite a few smoke breaks and one of the three did very little). However, they ended up denting a brand-new door at our old house which they dismissed as "just a scratch". We contacted Verdun and they confirmed that most of the door would have to be replaced; the cost would be ~$900 which was almost as much as the move itself! Since our old house was already sold, we wanted to ensure the new owner had the door they expected to receive.

We immediately submitted the claim to TSM and, to give credit where credit is due, their Office Administrator was able to answer my emails promptly over the next three months. However, the owner (who I was repeatedly told would get in contact with me) has never called/emailed and the last I heard from the Office Admin was that the file was closed. They are not registered with the BBB in Ottawa so it seems unlikely there is any chance for recourse.

From the other reviews on this site, it seems like they are mostly a great company; we just had an unfortunate and frustrating experience when it came to making a claim.

In response to the company's response, damaging a brand-new door and then claiming it can be fixed when the manufacturer has inspected it and says it requires replacement panels is akin to a layperson telling someone with a broken arm that it can be "fixed with just a splint". It's up to the expert (doctor, door manufacturer, etc.) to decide what needs to be fixed and how.
