Pioneer Family Pools

Purchased a pool heater in the summer of 2018 without financing. About three months later, out of the blue, I receive a letter from a collection agency demanding that I pay Pioneer Pool an additional $325.00 for the heater with the consequences of not paying that they would damage my credit rating and possibly take me to court! In didn't realize that a store could increase the price of something after it was purchased and expect to be paid retroactively. I obviously refused to pay it and now I've been informed that the amount "owed" was sent to the credit bureau. I've shopped at that store for over ten years. I've purchased pumps, filters, piping, salt, and patio furniture all of which adds up to more than $10,000 over the last few years and I am very concerned that at any point they will come back and say that they've raised their prices on any one of the items I've already purchased and expect that I will now pay the difference. It's absolutely crazy! Please let me know if Pioneer Pools has done this to you. I intend to fight this unethical practice and inform my neighbours in the Lorne Park area about the potential issues of buying anything from that store.
