Complete window replacement

We did our windows with this company 8 years ago. We loved the windows and the service as we thought it was a great job. Years later we started having water issues in the house. We currently have contractors over to help identify the root cause of the water entering the home. Upon inspection they discovered that the windows we installed correctly but they forgot one important thing..... The cauking !!! So we have thousands of dollars in damage for an oversight. We are not professionals so we call professionals to come in and do the job right. This is horrible and and has caused black mold on the basement all window ledges have to be replaced due to water damage. All because of something they forgot to do that takes minutes to do

Approximate cost of services:
$18,000.00

Company Response

Please find our response to the writer’s review.

Our Service Department does not have a single record of any telephone call or any other communication regarding the writer’s concerns.

Meanwhile, it must be noted that caulking is a maintenance item which comes with a limited warranty. It is, therefore, a requirement of the home owner to ensure that the caulking is maintained over time.

Since most of our installations are inspected either by the Window Wise National Certification Program or our own inspectors, it is highly unlikely that the windows were installed without caulking.

Again, in the unlikely event that a job was installed without caulking, problems would have most likely occurred directly following the installation and not 8 years later.

I contacted Colleen, Contents Manager at Home Stars, and requested to either have the homeowner contact us or to release their information to Consumers Choice so that we can determine if in fact they are our customer and discuss their concerns with them.

To date, we have not received a response.

We remain available, as always, to attend to any service concerns our customers may have.

We will update our response if we ever do hear from Sonia.

Yours sincerely,
