Water Heater

My parents (both 83) called Milani in September 2012 re: no hot water. One "tiny" plumber came out & decided he could not move the stacked, condo style, washer & dryer, by himself, to get at the hot water tank, so called for and waited for back up (I've moved this washer dryer, solo, by hand and with a dolly). After the two of "Milani's finest" examined the tank, they hit the reset button and charged my parents $360.00.
My parents complained & got $25.00 refund. 2 weeks later, no more hot water and my parents called the Milani gong show (probably out of loyalty to old Mr. Milani). They came out and replaced a $47.00 part and gave them a bill for over $217.00 Milani says that they gave my parents a 1.5 hour break on the second bill, worth about $225.00. They seem to think that nearly $600.00 to replace a $47.00 part is fair. If my parents hadn't complained and gotten a "break", the total would have been over $800.00. The whole thing should have been resolved the first time, by one guy for less than $300.00. How you think that you gave them a break and still pocketed over $550.00 for installing a $47.00 part... is beyond me.
Manager at Milani says "we already resolved this with your parents & they signed off on it". Like I said, my parents are 83 years old and english is their second language. Just cause you got two elderly people to sign on the dotted line doesn't mean you didn't screw them over..... YOU DID!

Response to Milani comments:
Just because you gave some concession and the accepted it, doesn't mean that you made things right! Or that it was ethical or fair. You can't even read your own invoice! The $97 was just another labour charge. It was not a part. They did nothing but do a "reset".
Your dynamic duo couldn't even figure out how to put a bifold closet door back on. I arrived in town just as the two man Milani gong show was packing up. They struggled repeatedly with the closet door not shutting properly. I finally told them to leave and adjusted it quite easily. I don't have the receipts at my disposal now, but will be visiting in a couple of weeks and will post images of both receipts. It's quite easy to see that the first bill was nothing but labour charges. Or you could post them. Feel free.

Thank you Venice, for reviewing our situation and addressing our issues. I recognize that Milani has a long history of good customer service and appreciate your acknowledgment that things could have gone better in this case.
