Mckinnon Heating Cooling

Our experience with McKinnon Heating Cooling has been an entirely positive one. The firm was confidently recommended by a neighbour who recently had a heat pump system installed by them in a timely manner. Our own requirements were for a stand-alone AC system separate from the central HVAC, on the top floor of our three storey house.
Owner Michael N. responded with a site visit within a day and provided options for installation of an appropriate system. There was no hard sell, just a competent, professional opinion and very reasonable pricing.
We opted for a ductless split system that involved an indoor wall-mounted air handler and an outdoor condensing unit. Installation of the system was completed in an impressively short time frame and installers Bran and JR were professional and efficient. We especially appreciated the lengths they went to in rolling out protective runners on all the stairs and floor areas before undertaking the work.
McKinnon Heating facilitated contact with an electrical firm that was able to respond within a week with installation of dedicated wiring circuitry through the house to accommodate the system.
We would highly recommend McKinnon Heating Cooling for all heating and cooling solutions. Going forward, we intend to use this firm for replacement of our aging central heating / HVAC system and water heater as they are well-versed in the latest heat pump technology that well be looking to switch to.

I have used McKinnon for a new furnace, yearly service, and now a new a/c. The owner Michael is a straight shooter. He won't try to push a new unit if the old one is repairable. The a/c install team of Michael, Bran and Edward , laid out runners on every floor and step. The install was very clean, and they explained every step of the way. I do not write reviews very often (especially if everything is ok).
This time I have a reason to give Mckinnon company 5 stars.
I replaced last summer (July 2021) 2 AC units and 2 Furnaces (for main and lower level). I communicated with Michael many times before installation regarding model and manufacturers of appliances.
I was looking for same Keeprite furnace model because was working for over 20 years.
Michael sent me specifications for different models (he recommended Goodman brand, but I wanted to compare all myself).
Goodman was the best for me, here are main reasons:
-variable speed motor with with lower nominal current (important for energy saving because is running almost all year, for furnace or AC
-much quieter than old unit
-smaller dimension but more heating (rated for 60000BTU, previous one was 50000BTU)
Selected furnace model was Goodman GMVM970603BN, modulating, variable speed.
This furnace is impressively quiet, even when operating on high speed, which it is rarely needs to do.
The installation team from Mckinnon did a wonderful job. Very polite, efficient and clean.
Last week Hamid helped with rerouting of S636 venting pipes (due to my deck construction)
Again, very happy with very good job done.
I'll recommend this company.

Friendly, prompt service from McKinnon, always!
We had a Tankless Water Heater installed the very next day after out "Old" Water tank began leaking. The crew were on time and very friendly. When the job was complete they explained everything to us clearly.
Mckinnon installed our furnace back in 2018 and I would not have thought about going anywhere else.

using these guys for a while. Never any worries. always a thorough job. i would highly recommend them. Friendly staff and crew. They explained what needed to be done and did it.

Checked furnace, humidifier, UV light, filter thoroughly and adjusted where necessary. In past, they have stopped gas leaks by replacing a valve or tightening, replaced our furnace and made recommendation about a chimney flue cap and helped insert a challenging air filter. Recommended an electrician for a non furnace matter. They are there when needed.

Preferred Air came to install a gas line for a new BBQ. They arrived on time, provided great insight on placement and were extremely professional and very pleasant to deal with. The attention to detail was amazing and it's obvious they take a great deal of pride in their work. Highly recommended!

I had a major noise emanating from the furnace at 1.00 a.m.. I called them at 7.30 a.m , had a call back within 5 minutes, repair completed by 1.00 pm.!
Excellent service polite, timely, respective and left their work area spotless!
