Mattamy Homes

We purchased a home from Mattamy and were extremely satisfied. They have amazing people and processes. They made a potentially stressful purchase a delightful experience. I would highly recommend them.

I have had issues with Mattamy from the onset. The sales experience was brutal; I had to follow-up numerous times for structural upgrades that the website said was available but the sales person said was not. In the end, it was available.

My list of 30 day items is still outstanding, and it has been 8 months since I moved in. When pending issues are fixed (or attempted to be fixed), jobs are left in a mess.

The '2 star rating is to recognize the efforts of a senior ranking employee, who has taken accountability for the numerous blunders.

Terrible customer service and satisfaction on all accounts. Poor quality materials and craftsmanship. Worksites look horrible as construction continues in the community. Disregard for maintaining their unsold properties and unwillingness to prepare for hurricanes or other dangerous weather in the central Florida area. Still
Unfinished warranty claims almost three months Post-closing

Poor craftsmanship, lousy work, painting has patches on it, shingles are damaged, doors cannot close, frames are not even, kitchen cabinets are wrong and cannot be fixed for a month since closing, just do the curbs without notice and when I open the garage door, there is a big trench in front of me, so I was late for work for an hour. Customer service cannot help much as seriously, no body can really help much whoever you talk to. I am paying 2.2 million on this crap. Will not buy from this builder ever again and will not recommend my friends and family to buy any house from Mattamy. Horrible experience with this builder.

Treats customers as garbage,

Worst builder, delivered a house built with MDF. Damages done during pre-construction by Mattamy still waiting to be fixed moved in 2yrs. ago. Trades are a joke, showed up 6 times to fix the same issue that's still unresolved. Mortar looks like a "dog's breakfast" PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUILDER.

The Mattamy experience was horrible right from the beginning of the sales office and their mistakes to the end of construction and more. We are still dealing with problem after problem, day after day, week after week, month after month. What’s worse is they don’t care. Not the frontline staff nor the VPs in customer service, the decor centre or construction. It’s pathetic and appalling how they get away with treating new homeowners this way. They should be held accountable as they are extorting consumers. BUYERS BEWARE- DO NOT BUY MATTAMY

Let me start off by saying that I work for a competing home builder in the surrounding area. I kept seeing signs for townhouses in an area that I know is exploding with development. My wife and I tried buying home through the company I work for and we were constantly getting the upsell. Trying to move us in to a home we can't afford to get more commission.

We went to the mattamy sales office in creekwood in April of 2017. Met with Adam the sales person for the area. Very casual. We explained what we were looking for and he showed us two pre-built spec homes ready for sale. We loved the unity model we saw initially. Put a deposit. Boom. We just bought a house... or so I thought.

We weren't able to customize our appliance package. Not the end of the world but we had two choices. No appliances. Or all the appliances. We didn't need a washer/dryer. But needed everything else. It was about a month of trying to sort it out. I spoke to several managers and, We were left with a washer and dryer we didn't need. That was literally the worst part. I sold them on kijiji for a little less than what they were worth. No biggie.

Adam also forgot to upgrade our appliances to stainless steel. Instead of doing nothing and letting us have dated appliances, Adam sent me the money for the upgrade from his personal account to cover the closing costs at the lawyer meeting. That's customer service!

I found a few deficiencies at the possession that the site super Jesse scheduled fixes on immediately. They were done within the week.

The one month warranty inspection was conducted on time and by a very helpful tech. Our closet door has a weird imperfection so he had it replaced.

Our one year warranty is coming up shortly and they've already emailed about that. Coming from a company with notorious warranty issues, this experience has been wonderful. Overall.

All the people we dealt with through mattamy have been wonderful to deal with. Adam, (totally forgot the sales assistants name, she was great too), sales manager Chad, site super Jesse, and the occupancy lady (forgot her name too)

Having said I work for a rival, the cost comparison is unbelievable. A townhouse with my company was 50,000 more and had ugly cheap finishings. We got vinyl plank flooring and quartz countertops through out. Just amazing.

bad building quality,worst customer services,many items were broken since day one, after 15 months, still haven't fixed yet, no response at all,can't do anything right , will never buy a home from Mattamy again, and won't recommend it to anyone i know.

We closed on the house on 11/21/17 with several issues to be fixed. We are now on our 3rd month where problems were not fixed or the few repairs performed were again done very poorly.
Mattamy homes don't care about the quality of services provided by the subcontractors and to make things worse, the "supervisor" don't have much knowledge either as several problems were not noticed by him and we found the mistakes.
I'm sure 99% of builders are like that, so no matter who you decide to go do yourself a favor and be on top of every detail because later you as the homeowner will be left alone to spend more money

Do not buy any pre-construction homes from Mattamy Homes! Bunch of professional suss who are hired incompetent trades workers. They force us to take occupancy of our unfinished home when the City Inspectors haven't issued them occupancy permits. When asked them to present the occupancy permit they say they can't show it. We asked the second time, and they admit they don't have it.

For the first time home buyers be aware! They will tell their lawyers to send you legal letters to scare you and force you to take possession/move into your unfinished home and pay them occupancy fees. Our AC was not working and water damaged in all our rooms. We are still trying to get them to repair our home after moving in several months later!

If you are a new home buyer and thinking of buying a pre-construction home, DO NOT BUY FROM Mattamy Homes! Unless you want to be forced to move into an unfinished and inhabitable home?
