Husky Heating And Air Conditioning

In January 2014, the winter was frigid. In the middle of a cold snap, when the temperature outside dropped to -20C, we smelled gas in our basement. It turns out that our 30+ year old furnace had a crack in the heat exchange.

We contacted Husky, and within 30 minutes, a representative arrived at my home. We described our household needs and the representative came up with the most cost effective solution and a quote. By taking into account incentive programs offered by both the Ontario Power Authority and Enbridge Gas, the Husky representative informed us how we could get approximately $1,500 in rebates from on-going programs. (Note the cost posted does not include the rebates, and includes the cost of replacing the chimney liner, which was a separate issue.)

After agreeing to use Husky, they arranged for the Enbridge energy inspector to arrive within the day, a requirement to access the Enbridge Gas incentive program. The following morning, a subcontractor that is regularly used by Husky arrived at my door, and by the afternoon I had a new furnace, and more importantly, heat. It took about 24 hours for me to get my new furnace up and running.

Although Husky does use subcontractors, based on my interactions, it was clear that they have an ongoing relationship and were competent.

The quote given to me on the first day was dead on except for one thing: a $150 water pump. Although we had the option to have a drainage pipe go across the floor, we felt this was too big an inconvenience. Instead, we opted to install the water pump to drain the condensation from the furnace into the washing basin.

The chimney lining was not installed that day because it was too cold. That will be done on a day when it's a bit warmer, and I'll update this post once that is completed.

I like Husky because of their quick response, knowledgeability of energy incentive programs, reliable quotes and competency.

My furnace was not working properly for almost one week. Two different companies came by trying to fix it, but the problem was still there. I called Husky Heating for the service. Technician came same day and found the problem very fast. One of a small parts needed to be replaced and since technician had it on hand he was able to do it right away. I am glad that I found this company and from now on will be using only them.

I've used this company 3 years now and they are amazing. Did new AC install on my new house...excellent job. Did duct cleaning twice so far and very good. Installed a commercial Ac for my business they came with a crew and cranes it was excellent service, excellent job. Had to intall it on the roof. Recently had my heat stop during the ice storm in Toronto. A tech was there in 2 hours replaced the motor and had heat while all my family was over because they had no electricity. And as I write this review there is a crew installing a new heater in my shop. Overall the best company I have ever used. Would recommend to everyone. These guys are stars. I used the last price.

Our furnace broke down in the middle of the night, a common thing in this winter, I imagine. Thankfully I had some portable heaters to give me time to shop around. After a few quotes and some research, I decided on Husky. I think I made a right decision. On their website I spotted they were offering a tankless, something our neighbors say they like, so I ordered that as well. The next day, Sergio and Gerry came, two technicians whom I found to be very professional. Over the years, I've picked up 'some' experience with hiring various companies and dealing with contractors, those two were clearly of the "Let's do it properly" variety, not "Let's get out of here as fast as possible" types. Gerry, the older one seemed very knowledgeable and answered a bit more questions then I should've asked. Very thorough and seemed to care about what happens years from now, not just in the nearest future. Money well spent, in my opinion. My family and some closest neighbors tend to rely on each other for experiences of dealing with different companies and I am absolutely recommending Husky to them. Professional technicians. A very quiet furnace, which is very important. This is the third time I have a furnace changed across the years and different houses. Possibly the first time I feel good about the change. My daughters seem happy about the tankless, as that removed quiet a few problems of having a house full of people. Overall, life is good and I'm glad I went with this company.

After the blackout, my furnace stopped working completely. Having kids in the house, we were desperately looking for help. Husky Heating replied to our call immediately, so we had heating back on in a really short time. The price was very fair, compared with other companies. Oleg explained everything very clear, left recommendations, and set the thermostat and humidifier at the correct settings. We are definetely going to recommend Husky Heating to all our friends, and use their services in the future for annual maintenances and duct cleaning.

Within the past two years I had a new airconditioner and a new furnace installed.

Very pleasant people to deal with and they do real good installations.They were done fast, same day and left the premises clean after.
