My husband and I are currently building our forever home together. When we got our quotes for windows I came across Clera on this web-cite and was very impressed by all of the good reviews. After meeting with our sales representative, Tom, we were also impressed with the product so we decided to go with them. Tom had told us that they do not deal with a lot of custom new builds but put our minds at ease and told us that the house plans that we sent him via e-mail were gone over by the factory and there would be no issues and that they would take 8 weeks to complete. We put our deposit down on May 7, 2014. On June 31 we had a slight change to the basement windows and were relieved when Tom told us that it would not be an issue to change. On Wednesday July 9th we began to get concerned that we did not have a confirmed delivery date yet. We were told that it should be within 10 business days but that they would send us confirmation by the following Friday (July 11). On July 14 we had not heard anything so again I called and was told that it should be within 10 business days but an exact date was not confirmed. Now today, July 16, we still do not have a confirmed delivery date and are being told that tomorrow we should have one. The issue is that our mason is extremely busy and is squeezing our home in. If we do not have the windows in time our project will be put behind schedule. The other issue we are having is that the jam extensions required for our home are larger than standard. Since we sent in our entire set of plans for our quote, and this information was contained within, we didn't for see any problem. About two weeks ago they began to say that they couldn't provide us with the jab extensions required since they are a custom size. We got a quote for the lumber required and the cost for labor (our framer is installing the windows) and it came out to be $2800.00! Clera offered to refund us $800 but I do not find this acceptable since we believed the quote provided to us would provide everything we required for the windows. So thus far in our journey with Clera I have been impressed with the product but disappointed with our experience. I hope that we can receive the windows in time and resolve the jam extension issue. I will update this review when the job has been completed.
