During a wind storm we heard a hammering noise and realized it was part of our roof that was flapping in the wind at the corner of our house! Afraid the roof might partially break off, or worse- it might start raining and damage the front part of our house, I put in some frantic calls to see if anyone could come and fix it. It was Sunday and all I got were call centres and answering services or "we don't work on sundays." When I called Joe he was doing his groceries and was close enough to our home that he offered to come by to have a look. He was there within the hour, climbed up to have a look and put in a few nails to keep it together until we could get a real crew up there. Joe didn't assume the job was his and said "you likely want to get a few quotes first." Nope. He helped us out when no one else would and I gave him the job on the spot. He was back in a few days with a small team and replaced a small part of our roof. When it comes time to replace or re-tile our roof I know who I'm calling.
