This corporation's size is too extensive to genuinely prioritize the concerns of a small homeowner. I highly recommend opting for a smaller business instead of Dodds.
My recently installed top-of-the-line Platinum series Garage door (Estimate# 198240630 & Invoice# 201191198), equipped with various warranties and support, was installed on 8/25/2023. The garage door exhibited multiple damages upon its initial unboxing (pictures attached). I reported the damages to the installer, acknowledging that accidents and damages can occur during shipping. The installer assured me that all damaged parts would be replaced.
On 8/29/2023, I contacted Dodds North York, detailing the damages, and was instructed to send pictures. They communicated that they would order two damaged sections, expecting them to arrive in 4 weeks. They assured me that they would then schedule a technician to replace the damaged sections.
After 6 weeks with no updates, I made multiple calls to determine the parts' status. My project coordinator finally informed me that the glass panel frame had arrived and scheduled a technician for 11/15/2023. I clarified that it was not the glass panel but the entire two sections that needed replacement due to multiple damages. The coordinator dismissed my concerns and insisted on the technician assessing it.
On November 15th, two technicians arrived, acknowledged the need for two sections instead of just the glass frame, and assured me that the project coordinator would contact me about the next steps. Today, on December 5th, no one has reached out to me, leaving me uninformed about the parts' status. There has been zero communication.
Having invested in a premium garage door with warranties, enduring 3 and a half months with a defective door and no information on its resolution is disappointing. Dodds' expensive doors are hard to justify with this level of service. I'm exhausted from making multiple calls, only to be told that the coordinator handling my file will reach out shortly, which never happens.
If a 0-star rating were an option, I would choose it. I urge others not to fall for this brand and their deceptive warranties and false promises.
