Clarke Basement Systems

This is the second time I've used Clarke basement. This time I was having some water drainage issues in my basement. And once again the workers were very helpful and professional and did a great job. I just wanted to let other people know how pleased I am with the work that was done.

We have never written a review before but felt compelled by this company and their product. Our search for a contractor to repair our cracked/sinking foundation began three years ago. The parade of pick-up trucks with guys and their clip boards in hand began. Of the contractors that did return our calls and show up, they gave us one different idea after the other on how to solve this problem. None of them had a feasible solution.
Year three, and one more search on the internet we found Clarke Basement Systems. At first it seemed too good to be true, it looked like they had the system that would solve our problem. From the very first contact with this company we knew they where different from all the other contractors we had dealt with. Their salesmen Chris came to our home on time with a computer in hand and an answer to our problem. Foundation Push Piers would stop the sinking foundation and they would attempt to raise our home to its original position. The owner Don with his crew showed on time and worked on the job until it was completed. Four days later the sinking corner of our home had been lifted back level. The property showed virtually no signs of damage. They were professional every step of the way. This product is expensive but it was the only solution to our problem. We would highly recommend this company to anyone who has a similar problem, or for that matter any issue with your foundation or basement.

Jose & Edgar just left after install of the Triple Safe pump System. They were very efficient and work looks excellent. They explained the System and everything that they installed clearly. They cleaned up the job site with great care Super Guys!!Hopefully, the system will work as well as advertised...I know I feel more secure already.

Rob & Noel did a great job. While we had to make a slight adjustment to the original plan they were knowledgeable and explained the issues clearly. Work site was impeccable.

Claude and his team did an excellent job finishing our basement. First, they installed a drainage system (WaterGuard) and floor tiles. Then, we were so pleased with the work they had done that we called them back to install walls and a ceiling!
They were knowledgeable and professional. They helped to improve the design of the walls, suggesting changes that would better suit our purpose. They helped to complete our TV room by installing a TV wall mount and wiring speakers behind the walls. They also recommended different lighting, which, with hindsight, we realize we much prefer.
We are really pleased with the quality of the materials as well as the look of our finished basement.
There were, however, some opportunities for improvement. They were:
1. Due to improper measurement, it was discovered that the wall panels would not fit down the stairs. Therefore, a large piece of one of the stairwell walls had to be removed. Of course, this piece of drywall was later fastened back to the wall and painted over. The rest of the stairwell, too, was repainted. There was no extra charge.
2. There were some inconsistencies between the design and the work order. These inconsistencies resulted in the delivery of some materials that could not be installed. Installation of these materials will have to wait until a future phase. Anyway, it's just as well that the materials are down in our basement. No more holes in the drywall!
3. Due to other commitments, the final steps of the project were not completed until a couple of months after the intended completion date.

In summary, despite the abovementioned opportunities for improvement, we would definitely recommend Clarke Basement Systems to our friends. They took pride in their work, acted responsibly and did a great job!

Graham and Noel were amazing - for such a horrible job, they were thorough, patient, good-humoured and kept me updated on their progress. Very pleased and impressed with the work - and it has made an immediate noticeable difference. I'd recommend them anytime.

Emilio is a very professional worker that through his hard work and diligence saved me thousands of dollars in repair costs. He is the type of person who carries himself with a high level of professionalism which made it quite easy for me to trust him. Where others would have given up, Emilio perseveres and does not quit until he has finished the job. During my experience with him, Emilio went out of his way to make sure he found the solution to my problem. Emilio did not assume the problem was a crack within the foundation; he used his extensive engineering knowledge to test every conceivable issue and in the end was able to conclude that the problem in fact was not with the foundation. He stayed with me for hours, going above and beyond his duties and in the end solved the issue. I was happy with his level of service and I would definitely recommend him to all my friends and family. His extremely kind and caring personality will ensure that he will be very successful in everything he tries. I am grateful to him. I know he will be an asset successful in all his endeavors.

Dave Bunn came out to look at a foundation issue I was having and he was quick to let me know that I would need a different type of contractor for the perticular issue I was having. It is great to see a contractor that welling to tell you when they are not right for the job and make recommendations at no cost.

While we haven't even started to get any work done, there were 2 issues that needed to be addressed. Both to me were basement related issues - but 1 turned out not to be (water coming in from the top of the basement). David was friendly, professional all the way through and advised me to start on that issue first prior to dealing with the basement issue. The oppurtunity to work with David was great. We'll certainly work with him in the near future once the more severe problem is addressed.

We had our basement waterproofed over a year ago. Clarke Basement Systems did an amazing job installing the interior system with cleanspace on the walls, and a sump pump. Rob and his crew were professional, on time, and cleaned up like it was their own home. The true test came this spring when our basement stayed dry!
