Dining Set

Purchased a dining set from their store near Kennedy and Lawrence. As most positive reviews here pointed out, their sales person was friendly and helpful, everything was smooth and good, UNTIL YOU PAY.

I made the purchase on Sep 26. Before paying I asked when will it be delivered because it is really important for me to get it before I got deployed oversees at end of October. And I won't be back for at least six months. I got the response that it will be delivered at the beginning of October, and since timing is important for me they wrote "Begin of OCT" and even "ASAP" on the bill of sale to reassure me this delivery will be their priority. Happy with their service, I paid with confidence.

You can guess what went wrong. I haven't received any call or message from them since then. On Oct 15 I could not wait anymore and made a call to the store asking what is wrong with the delivery. After a quick check (less than a minute) the lady said the chairs are not in stock but it will be delivered before the end of Oct. FINE, at least someone should call me and told me, but people are busy right? On the 18th I called again to see if there is any update, this time they are far less friendly, but at least still somewhat professional. During the call the lady put me on hold several times, transferring me to different people and I had to repeat my situation several times just to get a estimate date of delivery. The final answer I got is this: since it is a Saturday their main office is closed so they cannot tell me when the delivery will happen except it should be end of Oct. But they promise they will call me back on Wednesday. I told them I am leaving the country pretty soon, if I can't get any answer on the delivery date soon I will have to cancel the order. They assured me again everything will be fine once Wednesday comes. Alright, fair enough. I guess there are a lot of stuff for them to do on Monday and Tuesday. It is Wednesday now and I haven't received any call from them until 2PM. I called them again see if there is any update. Got the same answer, not in stock, should be end of October. I asked for a date of delivery, she said it's not possible cause it's not in stock. EXACT SAME CONVERSATION AS THE FIRST CALL. It's like hitting a wall. As soon as I start explaining AGAIN why the delivery date is important for me cause I'm leaving soon she put me on hold. I was like "what just happened?!" After a few minute I got tired of waiting and called again. THE PHONE WAS HUNG UP RIGHT AWAY WITHOUT A WORD! At this time I got worked up and immediately dialled back. First thing I said was that I want to cancel the order. The usual "We don't do cancels""All sales are final" came up. I asked why will they write "Begin of OCT" on the bill of sale if there's nothing in stock and they only expect delivery at the end of Oct. she replied with "it's on the fine print of bill of sale that delivery dates are estimates and they are not responsible for delays" I asked what you suggest me to do now since nobody will be at home for their delivery? Of course she's got Nothing.

The thing that baffled me the most is that it took them less than a minute to check stock level. Why not check it before I pay instead of writing down a wrong delivery time to trick me? I could've chosen something else. Even you are not responsible for what you wrote (which was not mentioned in the entire conversation during shopping) it is still just wrong to give faulty information purposely. And hung up the phone without saying a word? That is just a gem. At this point I'm not even mad, I'm impressed that people still do this.

So in conclusion, Bad Boy is a perfect store before you spend your money there which became a nightmare to deal with. My suggestion: save yourself some trouble and do not shop from there.
