Livingroom Furniture Purchase

My husband and I were looking for some furniture in August/2017. We visited Arrow in Brampton on two occasions. We found a couch and matching chair on our second visit that we decided to buy. The items were not in stock and we were advised they would be delivered in 30 days. We paid a $700 deposit. 30 days later we never received a call or any contact from Arrow and no furniture. I waited a couple weeks and called the store, they advised there was a delay and it would be another 30 days. Since we were hosting Thanksgiving this did not work for us as we had no furniture in our living room. I called Arrow and spoke with two Managers, the first one said they would have the sales person call us to explain, which he did but just said the delivery was delayed. The second call was pretty much the same result, there's nothing they could do. We went else where and got our furniture in 3 business days delivered. They will under NO circumstances ever return the deposit. Please be aware of this before you order as they do not tell you this when you place the order. They will only provide a store credit. I feel they do this to secure the order but never communicate afterwards with the customer and the orders are always delayed. My advice: do not leave a deposit without something in return. This business holds your money, does not update the customer on the status of the order and knows if you cancel they still keep the deposit so they don't really care. I definitely would never return to this business. I was not happy with their policies, communication and overall attitude towards the customer. Not only was I out $700 of hard earned money but I had to scramble to find furniture after waiting for two months.
