If you're reading this, it's probably because you already got ripped off by 4U. My God, what an outfit. It's hard to imagine such a retailer operates. I pass by that store occasionally and it always amazes me that it's still in business. Why Centrepoint Mall hasn't given 4U Furniture the boot is beyond me. I know that mall isn't high end, but still, having a retailer like that around hardly ups their prestige factor!
Here's the sequence of events:
I purchased a coffee table. Marly said it wasn't in stock, so she had to order it, but needed the cash up front. Fine, I thought. I've had major retailers take this approach so I handed her my credit card. Well.
Weeks began to pass and no word from 4U. So I phoned them. I was told someone would phone back. No one did. So I phoned again. And so forth.
To make a long story short, the woman kept stone-walling me with fresh excuse upon fresh excuse. The table was here. The table was there. It was on the truck. The driver had a cold. Every word that poured out of that woman's mouth was a fabrication.
Finally, I marched in and told her I'd phone the credit card company and have them reverse the charges. Pronto, presto, the table appeared within days. If you're within the time limit to do this, DO IT! Otherwise, good luck.
Again, it mystefies me why Centrepoint doesn't cancel her lease. They can't be that desperate.
