I had water leaking though the walls into my basement. Every time it rained it leaked through the walls. When the house was built there was only the "bubble wrap" placed onto the outside of the walls and the "bubble wrap" did not even go all the way up to the top of the basement wall. The top 3 feet of the basement walls were completely exposed to the dirt and all surface water that was anywhere near the house. There was no waterproof layer of any kind on the basement walls. I called City Wide about my problem and the very next day after I signed up with them Alex and his crew showed up and began to fix this problem. The crew had to hand dig through 8 or 9 feet of clay to the footing. They first applied a rubber barrier to the outside of my basement wall to keep out the water, then they placed an additional blue waterproof film, then over top of this they placed the "bubble wrap." They applied all of these layers from the bottom to the top of the basement wall. At the footing they placed a french drain to ensure that any water/moisture at the bottom of the basement wall would drain away. They connected a sump pump to the end of this drain. I looked at the materials they used for my job and I noted they all had brand names with trademarks. Although I am not familiar with the names all of the materials looked to be of high quality. Alex and his crew also did some grading on the outside to keep the water away from the basement walls. I am happy to report that it has rained very hard a couple of times since they completed their job and I have not had even 1 drop of water in the basement. I am truly enjoying not having to worry about water in the basement. I am looking forward to planning what I am going to do with the extra square footage of useable space. I've had lots of contract work done and the money spent for this job was well worth it. Thank you Alex and the hard working crew at City Wide!
