On the rainy day Saturday January 11 that company was found on google as emergency electrician. When contacted at midnight the information was given there would be a charge of $300 for coming to the house. He said he would be there within an hour, he arrived within the projected time frame. The distance from the company's address to the house is 14 kilometres. The electrician was at the house from 1am to 3:15am. He performed diagnostic tests on the electrical panel, disconnected one wire on the panel, and placed tape on the outside pipe to avoid water from entering. . No other materials were used. The electrician then gave information about the work that needed to be done at another time. The diagnosis and labor cost an additional $389. The total of the two amounts plus charges and taxes came to $785. The electrician’s emergency repair solved the imminent problem. The electrician was very polite and professional. Based on the experience we had with this company we can recommend them for their emergency services

Company Response

Thank you Miguel for your feedback, we glad to hear your emergency service was completed during a bad weather at late night. Due to a damaged electrical service conduit the rain water was going in to your main electrical panel which has created a potential fire and shock hazard. We were able to restore your power . We believe in excellent service 24/7 as we have proven to provide service during night 12am to 4 am .

We found out about the company from our Real Estate Agent. They were also listed on the website of the Electrical Safety Authority. Larry returned our phone calls promptly. He came at the agreed time and gave a free estimate. He thoroughly explained the job to be done. The Quotation he sent shortly afterwards described in detail the work to be done: rewiring most of the house, installing outlets and Smoke/CO2 detectors. The Quote gave a maximum price, and the start and completion dates, starting on a Monday and ending on the Friday of the same week. On the first day a hardcopy of the contract was provided as well as an Invoice. Larry and his assistants Kenneth and Jackson arrived daily at the time they said they would. The inspector of the Electrical Safety Authority came on the last day and the house passed inspection. When Larry found out, after a few days, that not as much work was needed to be done, on his initiative he informed us that the price was reduced by $600 from the approximate cost. The work was finished one day earlier than was stated in the contract. The house was left clean, and everything was done as agreed to. We, the customers, were responsible for providing the different light fixtures; installing them was the electricians’ job. After the work was finished we found out that one of the light fixtures did not work as it should. We called Larry. He told us to buy a new one, and he would send someone to replace the fixture. It was done one day after I called. For all of the above we highly recommend HC Electrical.
