We hired Firemen movers on a last minute move. They were very accommodating in their availability. The team was strong and worked fairly efficiently. Having said this, two items were broken the day of the move and now that we are beginning to unpack the rest of our items, we are finding that many more were broken. An entire day was dedicated to packing the breakables and so we find it unacceptable to have such a high breakage rate. A professional moving company such as the Firemen Movers should have the knowledge and resources to pack valuables.

Company Response

Dear Andrea,

Thank you for providing your valuable comments on your move with us. We know that our customers rely on us to provide excellent stress-free moving and packing services, but it is disappointing to read that we did not live up to your expectations. It is the high level of service that includes carefully wrapping and packing household contents that our customers have come to expect from us and that has made Firemen Movers one of the leading moving companies Toronto.

In this situation we were contacted on very short notice, during our busiest time of month, to complete a move for a large home in the Bridle Path whose contents were going to auction. Neither Firemen Movers nor the client had seen the contents of the home prior to the move so it was very difficult to plan appropriately for the packing services that were required. Once on-site we informed the client that many of the items in this home were of a very high value and that the majority should be professionally crated to be moved properly. We were instructed to the best we could as the move had to be completed on extremely short notice and professional crating was not an option. Firemen Movers did pack as many boxes as possible, and we did this in the same professional manner that we do all of our packing jobs for which we have had no complaints.

Due to the size of this move and the short notice involved we recommended to the client that they secure an additional truck from a secondary moving company. It was this company that moved all of the boxes in question. As a result, given the lack of proper crating, the number of companies involved and the length of time between when the move occurred and the notice of damage, we do not feel this is a fair critique of the level of service we provided. We at Firemen Movers stand by the work we performed on this move and feel that we helped these clients through a very short notice, complex move at months end.
