UPDATE: We have discussed the skylight situation again with Professional Roofers and arranged for one of their crews to replace the skylight. The conversation we had with Professional Roofers was an extremely constructive one, where both sides were able to express their concerns and we were able to quickly reached an resolution that worked for both teams. One thing I would comment about the company, is that the level of customer service has been superb throughout the entire roofing process. Professional Roofers is consistently quick and responsive to address questions and concerns making the roofing process a painless one. While we had a hiccup with the skylight, the workmanship on the roof was great and customer service has truly been excellent, as a result I would Professional Roofers to others. We got our roof replaced in October 2016. When the job was quoted, the estimator was very friendly and answered my questions. However, he did not actually go up onto the roof to check things out. I have a skylight and this is where things start to go wrong. A few months after the roof was replaced, it started leaking in one of the corners of the skylight. I will say that every time I've called Professional Roofers, they were responsive and were able to send someone out quite quickly. Each time, someone came to "reseal" the area of the skylight. However, after 3 leak incidents, the third one being the worst as it started leaking from multiple corners and leaking a fair amount of water, two roofers came to take a look while I was home and they showed me photos. The seal around the skylight had deteriorated quite significantly. This had not been mentioned by any of the previous people that came by and had not been mentioned by the initial roofers who could have done the job in one go. My belief is that if a more detailed quote had initially been done (i.e. a roofer actually got onto the roof) they would have recommended that we replace the skylight then. Instead, we now have to pay another ~$2000 to replace the skylight and pay for new people to come and rip up shingles that are <6 months old. In addition, the drywall on the inside is completely ruined. As a new homeowner, there is a lot that I am learning and my lesson from this is to not hire anyone unless the tradesperson has done a detailed walkthrough.
