We had Bath Fitter come into my old home and cover the old purple bathtub with an acrylic insert and it looked fantastic. If you like the acrylic look it was great and very durable. The beauty about it was how fast and efficient they were. I have replaced old tubs before and it can get messy and can be difficult to do our bathroom renovation was much quicker with the bath fitter.
