Even though it's a bit out of my way, I go to Primetime Paint & Paper any time I need paints. I've been renovating my condo - painting walls, doors, and baseboards, painting a microwave stand, etc. They are incredibly knowledgeable there. Any questions I have (what's the best primer for melamine? what's the best varnish for a table) and they can point me in the right direction. They carry Benjamin Moore and Para Paints and everything is great quality. Whatever they recommend has worked perfectly for my job. They're also so helpful with painting advice so the job turns out well.

I hired Perfect Painter to do some renovations and repairs in my condo; mostly removing the remainder of a small wall between the living room and solarium. I was very unimpressed with my experience. - the handyperson showed up almost 30 minutes late (explained to me that parking and traffic were bad, which in downtown Toronto on a weekday is no excuse). - poor communication - she came in a small car that could not fit the drywall I needed for the job, even though I had spoken to the sales person before and the quote was clear that she would be getting the supplies herself. She didn't seem to have any information about the job and seemed quite surprised by what was needed. Very luckily someone was able to pick up the drywall and deliver it for us. - the work was average at best. The two drywall patches where the original wall was removed are not very flush with the walls - one is out by a small bit (but will always be a small hump in the wall now), the other is out by at least 7mm so will need major patching before the baseboard looks acceptable on the wall. - I had a small piece of damaged drywall on the ceiling that needed repairing (from a leak years ago). I explained to the handyperson that the plaster was damaged and I had pulled down only a small part; she would need to remove the rest of the damaged plaster and repair it. I came back to see she had just patched the hole I made. When I asked about it, she first told me the rest of the "damage" was just caulking; then she said she'd have to remove it all along the window if she pulled down anymore; then she said she was just going to "cover it up" with the can of spray popcorn ceiling she had bought. I had to climb on the ladder and pull a bit down myself before she actually removed the remaining damage and re-fixed it (an extra 6 square inches at most). - When I asked her about fixing the floor the next day she had no idea that was required and didn't have the tools, nor could she fit the tools in the car for the next day. When I spoke with the sales person (Alexia) when arranging the work, I explained the wall would be removed and the flooring would need repairing as well but that was not passed on apparently. Someone at the company did try to reschedule another handyman for another day, unfortunately I could not take any more time off as I'd already arranged for the two agreed upon days. - I received the invoice a few days later with just an amount under "Home Depot". I asked for a copy of the Home Depot receipt just to confirm - it took 2 days to send that but only an hour before they went ahead and charged my credit card anyway without my authorisation. Most information that I provided when arranging the work was not passed on to the handyman. Much of this would have been prevented with a site visit so they were aware of the work, but I was explicitly told that it wasn't necessary. Overall I was quite disappointed; I was hoping to use the company to paint the condo later in the summer but I am no longer confident about the quality of work that would be provided. When I emailed my concerns to the company they replied "I do apologize that you were unsatisfied with the service you received from the Perfect Renovations Group. We do appreciate your feedback and comments, and we would like you to know that this project does not reflect our overall workmanship and service. We hope that you will still keep us in mind for future services. And it was a pleasure working with you." No offer to make up for the subpar work. I would not recommend this company.

Dear Lauren, I sorry your feel that your experience was not a good one and that you feel our office staff did not offer you any good will gesture for what you you feel was inadequate. I have asked Kimberly our office Manager to contact you. Michael Delongte

I got a new kitchen counter installed with an undermount sink, and called Mr. Rooter to come hook up the plumbing and install a new faucet. Other plumbing companies had given quotes from $450 to $565, and Mr. Rooter came in at $503. Called around 7pm on Thursday night, and Phil S. was able to come at 12pm on Friday. The job took about 3 hours and Phil did a great job. I would definitely hire Mr. Rooter again.
