We had a horrendous contractor experience when we renovated our main floor several years ago so this time I did my homework when choosing a contractor to redo our basement. We invited 3 companies to quote, all of whom had excellent reputations, but we chose Maralon because Mike gave us the best first impression and spoke the most knowlegably about a floor drain issue that was a huge thorn in our side. These guys started when they said they would, showed up every day and on time, finished when they said they would, AND gave me a HUGE allowances budget in the original quote which meant that the job completed about 15% under budget. Everyone at Maralon also listens and communicates really well and they're very responsive to your phone calls and emails. Mike has been back to my house twice (no charge) to fix an issue that was due to our negligence, not Maralon's workmanship. I will use these guys again when I redo my main floor bath in a year or two and I will recommend them to anyone and everyone I know who's planning a home renovation project. Thanks guys, you rock! We were preparing for renovations in our basement and needed to move everything out and into the garage. I didn't want my husband and our friends to do it (their over 40 backs aren't what they used to be!)so I checked HomeStars for movers. Rent-A-Son had great ratings, and rightfully so. Two young, strong men, Daniel and John, showed up at our home exactly on time, they were extremely efficient (finished early) and very polite. They were also very careful not to cause any damage to my walls or my furniture. I will call them back when the renos are done to move everything back.
