As a potential homeowner making the largest purchase of my life, I did not want to blindly accept my real estate agent's inspector recommendation so I went out to find the best home inspector possible. I had several criteria in choosing a home inspector: 1.) I wanted someone that included infrared thermal imaging as part of the inspection and not as an add-on. 2.) I wanted someone that had a construction background and had been part of the industry their entire adult life. 3.) I wanted someone that had an online presence that clearly articulated on their website their business, how much it cost and how to book. 4.) I wanted someone that was responsive to my concerns, articulate about home construction, helpful and understanding since I have no idea about any of this. 5.) Finally, I wanted someone conscientious about the property they are inspecting; respecting the current homeowner's home and careful to return anything moved to its original position. It really seems remarkable, but I satisfied all of those criteria and more by going with Paul Friesen. Paul is incredibly professional. The final report I received was detailed and thorough. Paul went through everything with me and spent time with me to ensure I understood everything about the house. He even showed me how to use the central vac. His report, his truck, his uniform and his demeanor are top-notch professional, but none of that would matter if he did not have the knowledge to go along with it. I really wanted to write a review about this experience as so many times, service is mediocre or just bad. I had actually lost hope that anyone cared about good service anymore. Finally, someone is taking pride in their work and passionate about their profession. I paid $450 + tax, the exact amount that is laid out on the I Find It Inspections website. I didn't have to pay more for the use of the latest tools. That shows true integrity in my opinion. I should not be charged more to get the best possible inspection - I believe that and Paul Friesen does too.
