We remodelled our kitchen recently with Design Granite Countertop Inc. Lousy services and not honest to customers. Bad experience. I will never refer this company to anyone. To begin with, we picked a granite slab from a supplier recommended by them. Things went smoothly in the first place until they installed the countertops... We found a crack line at one corner of the island. They told us not to worry and will fabricate a new one for us. They took the faulty piece back to the factory. The following day, they returned with a "NEW" piece. They told us that they got a new slab from the same supplier and worked real hard the night before. They then set it up but...we found the same crack at the same corner! Just that it looks a bit 'subtle'. I asked why it still has a crack in the same spot. They insisted that it is a "NEW" piece just that the slab came from the same block of stone which carries this natural line. We accepted it reluctantly and paid the balance. The following day, I called the owner, Tac, and told him that I am not happy because they gave me an old piece and were not honest to me. They simply re-polished the same piece to hide the crack. He then admitted everything and turned it against me "You picked the stone yourself and we are not responsible for the crack". Indeed, my intention was to let him know that I already accepted the piece and paid the balance. All I wanted was to let him know that I knew what they are doing. They should be honest to me in the first place. It is about integrity. If they would have told me about the crack in the first place and explained to me how they would fix it that will be a totally different story. And of course, he kept on defending...I ended the conversation and will never refer him to anyone.
