I have been wanting to write this review for quite sometime to educate others about the horrible experience I had with these movers. My family moved from Aurora to Dundas in 2011. We wanted to hire movers to eliminate the frustration of moving. We had 3 moving companies come out and quote and in the end, we chose action movers as they were right in the middle of the pricing and they seemed very friendly and educated. Robert from Action Movers came to our house for the evaluation. This is when they look at all of your stuff to determine size of truck, how many people are required and time in order to determine a price. Robert thoroughly looked through our house and we accepted their offer. I explained to Robert that my son had a play centre in the back that I had hired someone to take apart and that I would rent a truck to take the playhouse to Dundas, On the day or the move, this is where it all went downhill. Robert showed up with his 2 helpers and looked at our furniture and boxes and accused of of hiding furniture when he did his evaluation. The truck he brought was obviously too small and it was clear right from the start that this was going to be a very long day. We got the truck loaded and before Robert left, he constantly complained that he was over weight and that they would have to avoid MTO weigh scale stations to avoid being fined. At the time, I was not aware that Robert had double booked himself that day and was trying to hurry so he could get to his second move. When we arrived in Dundas, Robert refused to unload the truck unless payment in full was paid. I have since learned that this is common practice within the moving community. As they were unloading the truck, Robert loaded up dolly's and proceeded to dump them on to our brand new hardwood floors without any concern whatsoever. Now, you will recall earlier that I had rented a truck to move my sons play centre. Well, Robert decided that once the truck was unloaded, he would leave a guy with me to move the remaining items at the house. None the less, I had to load up the little truck I rented 3 times before the move was done. Robert blamed it all on my hiding furniture and boxes when he did his evaluation. I looked into small claims court against them as phone calls to the company were not responded to. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Moving is hard to begin with but this sucked the joy out of moving into a new house altogether. Go elsewhere and you will be happy that you did...

I am very confused and saddened to see this review 3 years after the Move. On July 04, 2011 a viewing of Terry Whelan home occurred and the notes from that visit are still retained by us. We agreed to send a 5-Ton Truck to accommodate his Move at a Flat Rate. As per the viewing of the Furniture and Boxes to be Moved
the truck should have been 1/2 to 2/3 Full.
On September 15 we arrived to do the Move and there was far more Furniture and Boxes and Totes than were viewed on July 04, 2011. Certainly Terry was asked where all the extra items had come from and we were not happy with being mislead. He was presented the notes from the viewing. We spent an additional 4 hours loading and unloading due to the extra items and never charged him an extra dime even though we would have been within our legal and moral rights to do so. We honoured the Flat rate with no change and sucked up the extra wages. The Truck brought was a 5-Ton Truck which we had agreed upon and is virtually the largest size straight Truck you can bring and was fully loaded front to back, side to side and floor to ceiling with no dead spots and it was overweight. Below you will see a similar current Move from July of 2014 with a little longer distance but similar in that the items to be moved were greater than what was agreed and yet again we honoured the Flat Rate and did the Move.

This would have been the type of review I would have expected from Terry 3 years ago. Please notice that there was no Damage on his Hardwood Floors and we have a signed document from Terry stating that "Services ordered were performed and Shipment was received in Good Condition".
We always answer all messages and there has never been any correspondence from Terry since his move in 2011 either by phone or email, this is the first.Regarding Terry's comment that we sucked the "joy out of moving",

Yes, I am truly sad and confused by Terry's review 3 years after we did his move. He received a perfect move with no extra charge for his extra items.Robert
