We have had nothing but bad experiences with roofers. After the December ice storm created a major leak in our roof, fixing that leak was the LEAST of our problems. Finding a company we could trust was the biggest issue. Our home has an upper and lower roof, joined by a mansard wall, making our problem that much more difficult - the leak could have been in either of the the three areas. We contacted two companies; both believed the problem to be on the lower roof, and both advised that they would troubleshoot with water, starting at the lowest area, and working up until water started leaking inside. Both quotes were approximately the same, and rather exorbitant. However, the first company stated they would replace the mansard wall (contrary to their initial assessment, which indicated the problem was with the lower roof). The second company agreed to do the work, then ignored our 4 follow-up calls. We then called D'Angelo and Sons. Wes advised he was putting a 'rush' on our repair, and two days later, Joel arrived. Joel listened - he actually listened, to our observations, and then proceeded to troubleshoot the area with water. The leak showed itself when water was applied to the upper roof. Joel encouraged me to join him on the roof so I could observe the repair. After removing approximately 9 shingles, he found 2 rusty nails, the exact point of entry. He put down ice & water shield and new shingles, and finished up caulking areas the original roofer neglected to do. That night, we had over an inch of rain during a storm - - without a single drop of water inside. The cost of the repair? A quarter of the first two estimates. I simply cannot give enough praise about Joel, D'Angelo And Sons, and the work that was done. They took what was our nightmare and turned it into an overwhelmingly pleasant and positive experience. When we have to replace the existing roof, we now have a company we can trust. Thank you once again, Joel!
