We moved into a 16 year old home mid-June 2013. We had our hardwood restrained prior to moving in and wanted to redo the tile as well to a 24x24" porcelain tile. We had two quotes provided to us by tile installers through referrals. Both contractors refused to remove the existing tile giving excuses about why they couldn't do it and one even said to choose a smaller tile because he was afraid to cut the tiles. Ultimately, neither would commit to the job. A colleague of my husband's recommended to use Homestars to find someone good to do the job. This is where we found Dimitri. He and his team were phenomenal. He came promptly to provide an estimate. He clearly and reasonably priced out each aspect of the project from renting a garbage bin, to removing the tile, to hiring professionals to disconnect existing appliances and plumbing, to install of new drypack, to materials and labour for install of the new tiles. He committed to the job and agreed to start the following week! He and his team worked professionally, quickly-completed kitchen, foyer and powder room in 4 days and skillfully-it looks perfect! They contained the mess as much as possible and cleaned up after each day, leaving the house in livable conditions despite the huge amount of work being done. After 2 weeks of job completion, we found a defective tile of which we could not remove some dull scratches. Dimitri actually returned and removed the defective tile completely and reinstalled a new one in its place at no extra cost! Everyone who visits compliments us on the amazing tile job.
