Door is beautiful and installer did an amazing job. However, the Salesman was not helpful and ignored me once my order was placed. After going out to look at the existing door and external shutters he wrote up the bill. I thought the price I was given included the shutters. It wasn't until the door was being installed (7+ weeks later) that I was advised the shutters were not on the order. It took 2+ weeks of calls to the salesman and customer service to have someone look in to it. The Shutters were finally ordered in September (and yes at an additional cost). I was told it would take two weeks. A month later I called and was advised the colour was out of stock (not a call to keep me updated). The shutters were finally installed in November. I think I was more than patient... what started on July 6th... should not have gone into November to be rectified. As mentioned... the door is beautiful but I am sure there are other companies out there with beautiful doors and better Customer Service.

Company Response

Please find our response to the above review.

We can now confirm that the door, which was contracted for, was ordered for the main floor. The external shutters, to which the customer refers, were on the second floor. Possibly, there was a misunderstanding; however, shutters were never contracted for. Following the customer’s enquiry, we did write another contract for the addition of the shutters. A normal delivery for shutters is approximately 4 – 6 weeks. On this occasion, it took longer, due to a back-order on colour. Unfortunately, this is a manufacturer matter, beyond our control.

After speaking with the customer, she agrees that there was probably an innocent misunderstanding and now completely confers with the fact that the shutters were never on the original contract and she does not believe that the salesman was intentionally misleading her. She is completely happy with the products and the installation, and has suggested that Consumer’s Choice should receive a much higher rating for what she believes to be an excellent job overall.
Yours sincerely,

I was stuck so paid the price. But to hook up the blower on my gas fireplace (the outlet box was supplied) and wiring it into the breaker and to move one outlet it cost $940.00 (before taxes). After talking with people at work - they say I was ripped off. It cost $180.00 just for him to come out to determine what had to be done. I needed it done so paid it. I also had to "argue" to get him to put drywall over the old outlet. He tried to tell me it was a waste and to just cover it with a plate - even though I kept insisting that I wasn't sure where the fireplace mantel would hit on the wall. It turns out if he didn't put drywall over the old outlet - the mantel would fall in the middle of the plate he wanted to install. It took them less than 2 hours. Three weeks before it cost me $1500.00 to install 14 potlights and it took them 7 hours. The more I think about it - the more I believe - single female - ripped off. I live / work in the area - my word of mouth will not be positive.
