2/10

I decided in February to hire this company and with a deposit was given a start and estimated completion date. To my surprise they didnt even start the job until weeks after the completion date. It started horribly, Boris the main contractor on the job simply hands the work over to companies without fully outlining the details or following up to assure they are done correctly. I arrived home to find the garage cement pad was poured in correctly and failed to meet city codes. I had to contact the contractor to inform him it was done improperly. They made a mess of the pad by incorrectly covering it with poly leaving ugly lines all over the pad. Next I happened to open my web cams to see the framer placing the window in the wrong place. His answer was he tried but never can get a answer on the phone from the contractor. A few days later Boris sends the electrician to my house on a Friday night at 10 pm to start wiring without a legal permit. When the electrician left he tried to take my breakers from my house panel to I assume resuse in another job as he put used breakers in mine. The garage has failed final inspection at this point because now i have to install fireproof drywall at my cost because the company placed the pad improperly. The man door is another horrible job with nails. Now im billed without even a final walkthrough inspection to discuss issues. Would i recommend this company? Absolutely not.

Company Response

Hi Keith,

Firstly, we're really sorry to hear you're disappointed with your experience. We do our best to deliver a service that we can be proud of

I'd like to clarify a few points you've brought up:

We give estimates rather than fixed dates, especially for early-season projects that are 100+ km from the City of Edmonton limits. Unpredictable factors like a prolonged winter can delay the start date. We communicated this beforehand.

The setback change was an error on the Town of Wetaskiwin's part, and we've been working to resolve this. We also applied for a variance, absorbing the cost ourselves. Any errors on our side were fixed without delays.

Electrical work was done with a permit. While it's hard to believe our longtime electrician would make such an oversight, we promptly replaced the breakers to ensure your satisfaction.

Quality & Inspection: You moved items into the garage before the project was completed, which could contribute to some of the damage you cited. This is against our liability and company policy, as it compromises both quality control and safety. We still fixed all the aforementioned issues and our final walkthrough report that was signed off by you didn't show these issues.

Fire-rated Wall: This was another late-stage requirement from the town of Wetaskiwin, not an oversight on our part. We're adapting to it as quickly as we can.

We've endeavoured to go above and beyond to resolve these issues, even providing additional services like the concrete apron at no extra cost to you. We get it, though. The end result was not what you had hoped for, and for that, we are sorry.
