I bought a tub back in September of 2012. It all started at the home show, i was shopping for a tub and found the exact dimensions that i was looking for. A salesmen by the name of Larry started to give me the sales pitch on the tub. He started off by telling me that the tub was a one of a kind chemical free tub (THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CHEMICAL FREE TUB!!!! NO MATTER NO WAY NO HOW!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SALES PITCH!!!), at the time i found that to be very appealing. I was also told it had a 10 year bumper to bumper warranty. After further looking into it i checked with Dynasty Spas and i was informed that the tub only has a 3 year warranty. They say the rest in an instore warranty but try to get a hold of them or try get them to send someone out. Trust me it will not happen!!! Next it was time to talk price..... Well the initial quote was $24,000!!! Give me a break. I quickly got him down to 12,000 then we had agreed on 10,000 all in. WOW did i feel special for getting that $14,000 break ( i'm kidding). Then they told me that the tub would only cost 20 bucks a month...... Maybe in July!!! Theres no way!!! it's at least 80 bucks. I buy the tub, it gets delivered, i get power to it and get it going.... The lights wont work>>>> I try to get a hold of them and no one of importance was ever around or they were there but to busy to do anything! Long story short i had to resort to texting the owner a 1000 times and even then the lights didnt get fixed for 2 months! After owning my tub for a few months i started to become very skeptical about the no chemical thing. My water had an odor and there was always stuff floating around in it. So i start asking around and visiting other spa places in Alberta. Every single place told me that it's impossible to have a safe, clean and healthy hot tub without chlorine. I also visited another Dynasty spa dealer and saw my exact tub there (i was told that this tub was exclusive to polar spas). I got to chatting and i asked "can this tub really be used chemical free?". He replied "Oh no, you bought a spa from POLAR SPAS didnt you?". Wow did i feel dooped at that moment!! The tub is definitely not chemical free if it were i'm pretty sure Dynasty Spas would have it advertised all over the place! Had i only known this tub was a Dynasty Spa before i bought it. These guys seriously need to be sued for straight up misrepresenting their product and misleading people. I'm sure there are 100's of you that are feeling the same way and for all those considering making a polar spa purchase, DONT!!!! Look up a Dynasty spa dealer in your area and you'll find the same tub with an honest staff and honest prices. For all you that have been ripped off and would like to take some legal action on this matter please contact me.

Thank you for your review P.X. We appreciate you bringing all of this to our attention. It appears that you are very misinformed as to what type of hot tub you have purchased. Your salesperson, Larry, has left you several messages to help explain your hot tub and how it operates. Unfortunately you have not returned his calls and have left us to reply to this thread.

First of all, you are correct in saying your spa is not chemical free. It is a fresh-water system, created through the use of an APG ozone system. This means you are never in the spa at the same time as chemicals. Your spa does however require a shock treatment every once in a while depending on use. This shock is put in the spa while you are not in it – and is completely removed from the water by running a pump cycle with the cover off. If you would like one of our staff to walk you through this guide, please give us a call. Had we been chemical free, you are correct that we would be advertising it everywhere! We do not.

Second, at Polar Spas we are very confident with our heating guarantee. As long as your spa has RMAX insulation, we guarantee your spa to cost less than $20 any month to heat. Finally, the spa you purchased is manufactured by Dynasty Spas. You are correct. Unfortunately you are incorrect in believing that our spas are identical to those sold by any other Dynasty dealer in Alberta.
