1/10

Based on our experience, our Alpine Deck project reflects very poor quality design, construction and poor workmanship. Our deck (fairly small standing on a concrete patio with no post footings) was built in September 2020. We had to call John back the next day to correct obvious flaws which if inspected upon completion, he would have noticed. Had to have him back again in the spring of 2021 to again repair areas resulting from the elements of one winter season namely; loose stair backboards which were improperly secured with a proper backing, warping rails resulting from poor design and no support, posts twisting (which cannot be corrected), multiple cracked boards resulting from improper nailing and inferior wood quality and more. John does not physically build the deck himself (nor does he do a quality inspection afterwards with the customer) .... just barks orders to his very amateur inexperienced crew. He just sets up his circular saw and does the cutting. I have concluded Alpine builds decks as inexpensively as possible taking every possible shortcut! Not sure where the positive reviews came from or how they were even possible. Maybe at one time in the past, they actually built a quality deck. Only reason I didn't give less than a one star rating ..... his dismantling crew did a good job in tearing down our old deck and hauling away the material. See my attached photos and decide for yourself if this represents the workmanship of a company that supposedly has been in business for 30 years (as advertised). Don't be miss-lead by the photos shown on the Alpine Deck website. Just trying to save other potential clients going through the disappointment, heartache and frustration we did.

Company Response

Angelo was a whiner from the very beginning.
He and his wife sat in chairs and watched like hawks the whole time we were there.
He accused me of purposely using inferior wood.
We did go back the next day to correct a post with the wrong angle on it, and this spring to do some repairs, and I even let him chose the wood from a selection from my truck. Yet he's still acting like a sour puss.
He is wrong about my website and experience. Every picture on my website I've built with my own hands, and sure I don't do much of the physical work anymore because I have 30+ years of knowledge in my head and my competent and experienced crew learns from me.
