Morrell's is a locally owned store that is sort of like shopping at a Lowe's. They have everything you could need to remodel or renovate your home, from floor tiling, carpet, beds, doors, shutters, lighting, furniture, bedroom furniture, living room furniture, home decorations, and a huge section dedicated to linens and draperies. They also have a nice selection of florals, and candles, and stuff to make your home smell great! There are always items on clearance to find, and the service is friendly and accomodating. We bought a new beautiful leaded glass and mahogany door, new carpeting and new accessories for our living room. All great prices and a pleasant place to shop. Oh yes, they also have a building for the MEN, full of screws, nuts, nails, nailguns, appliances and dining furniture. It just keeps going on at Morrell's!

Michael's is the craft kingdom! They have everything you could need. From framing to seasonal stuff, to floral things, and wedding items too! If you need it for a craft project, they've got it. They even have candy and stuff to decorate cakes. They have all kinds of paints and of course, craft kits from stitchery to marbelizing kits. The prices are fair, and often I find things marked down or on clearance. I love to shop there--you could easily spend a couple of hours just looking around! I give Michael's 5 stars!

My mom and I had her house totally gutted and remodeled. The house did not have any previous central airconditioning at all, so this was a complete job, and we hired Larry Resmondo to do it. He and his team got us a good price on a brand new heat pump, which are more efficient for those of us who live in Florida. They installed new ductwork, and it was HOT, but no one complained. They were efficient and did a great job. Larry is a nice guy, and well known in our area. His business is in High Springs. We have never had a problem with our new heat pump and they even came out in the first year and cleaned it for us. I recommend Larry and his team for your cooling and heating needs.

While passing through Starke one day, I stopped in at Ole Trunk Antiques. I saw the store and decided what the heck... I am not really into antiques at all, but I had time to burn and wondered what they had. Upon entering, I was thrown back in time by viewing old glass and pottery, wooden furniture and there were some things that I thought were related to our area, like clay turpentine pots and various tools. It was nice and I guess the prices fair--like I said, I don't get into antiques, but I enjoyed visiting their shop and seeing some things I have never seen before.

I live in Lake City and have visited this Art Gallery a couple of times, looking for a unique gift for a friend. They certainly had what I was looking for! Beautiful pieces of art and all kinds of special things to buy.
