This is the second time I have used Kingsway Carpets and Blinds and I can't say enough about how honest and reliable they are. George was very professional, knowledgeable, and provided invaluable advice on the type of blinds that were appropriate for my project. I believe that Kingsway's prices are extremely competitive. However, even if their prices had been a bit more expensive than another company (which was not the case), I would still have gone with Kingsway because their added value is great customer service. In my opinion, their priority is to ensure that their customers are 100% satisfied, even if it costs Kingsway a few extra dollars of profit to do it. For example, when one of the blinds that I ordered ended up being a centimeter too short (I believe this was the manufacturer's mistake), they immediately ordered a replacement and came back to install it once it arrived. I did not even notice it until the installer pointed it out and promised that it would be replaced. This is just one of many examples I could cite to show that Kingsway Carpets and Blinds cares about its customers. I strongly recommend them to anyone who needs blinds for their home. Although I have not used them for carpets, I will definitely call them when it is time to replace the carpeting on my second floor.

I hired Executive Touch to do some painting in the beginning of December. Massimo and his crew finished the job ahead of schedule with minimal inconvenience. They are reliable and hardworking painting contractors and I do not hesitate recommending them to others. One additional point that should be mentioned is that Executive Touch maintains both liability insurance and a Workman Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) Clearance Certificate; Massimo provided evidence of both when he provided his initial quote. Even though the quote provided by Executive Touch was a bit more expensive than the one I received from another contractor, I decided to go with Massimo for this reason. When a renovation or construction project is underway, a home may be considered a work site under Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act (if certain conditions are present). If an injury occurs due to unsafe work practices, the home owner may be charged or fined under this legislation. Retaining a contractor who is registered with the WSIB (http://www.wsib.on.ca/) will reduce your potential liability. If you are considering more than one contractor, ask each of them to provide evidence of liability insurance and WSIB registration. You will probably find that many do not carry insurance and are not registered by the WSIB.
