1/10

Perola kitchens were recommended by friends of my parents and the project was to install my mothers dream kitchen after waiting 20+ years. My mom felt she didn't want to spare any expense in this renovation, she went to Perola with hopes of getting the perfect kitchen with extremely high end quality and detail. She chose the kitchen she wanted from the showroom and booked the date for the renovation to begin. My mother planned to leave the house as the project was to take 4 weeks to complete. I agreed to stay at the house and oversee the reno, staying in the basement with a 1/2 kitchen/bar so I could still eat etc. The demo of the project was on time but the rest took 4 months. They would do one part then not return for a week or so with no contact or returned calls. The work was sloppy and the care taken was minimal. The birch hardwood floor was installed not levelled to the existing hallway floor. When the appliances were "put in" not installed the fridge fell on me. The fridge during installation was dragged on the new floor(not using the recommended wood strips that were shipped with the fridge) and the floor had huge gauges and they blamed me for doing it. Never any apologies. The quartz backsplash was to have a line cut out along the whole backsplash but over the stove was left out. When they installed the small wood countertop that separated the newly open concept space, they painted the ceiling above and splashed paint all over the new wood. When I asked them about it they told me to clean it. When i refused they chipped the paint off with a knife and touched up the spots with permanent marker. They needed to install a hand rail down the stairs, they installed the hardware in the wrong colour with mismatching wood screws, drywall screws and other random screws. Getting them to fix that was like pulling teeth. They made excess holes beside the railing and refused to fix it because "it was not part of the whole project"..>What?? But you made them." i said. After the worst plastering job they did it, 1/2 ass. Should've just done it myself but for the amount of money my mother spent I didn't feel I had to. Overall I was so stressed for 4 months and totally over this whole thing. I don't recommend them, try and avoid them, go with someone else and avoid serious hassle and awful customer service. They treated me as if they were doing me a favour and that we didn't pay them $80,000. After bothering them with many calls my father finally got them to repair the floor, poor results again...Ahh! Forget it just renovate your own house!!!!!!!! Boooo Perola Kitchens, save your money and don't fall for their excuses...

Approximate cost of services:
$80,000.00
