Well in all my moves over the years I have never hired "professional movers" I was very exicited and felt relaxed prior to the move, the day of however was another story! They called the night before to confirm that I would be ready at 830 am. I told them I was and asked them to confirm my request for 2 wardrobe boxes. I was told that they did not have any desite my prior request and just to put garbage bags over the hangers?! At this point I had to ask if they had blankets. As I was only moving a bedroom set, one sofa couch, dining table. 6 chairs and hutch ( I had already moved the kitchen, bath and decor stuff on the weekend) few boxes, pictures and tv/stereo I really did not anticipate any delays. Wow was I wrong. They did not arrive until 10:50 am! Said they were struck on the highway and then called to ask where the condo was because they were lost. Yes I did ask where they came from and what time they left! Anyone who lives in a downtown condo understands that the moving elevator can only be booked for a certain amount of time. Mine was from 9 - 12 am, I was really starting to worry. The guys came up...looked around and went back down to the truck (with nothing) Should have know that they were not experienced movers when they did not have the proper safety footware, gloves etc. To make this story shorter.....my friend and I helped them with loading, they went missing for an hour (lunch?), ran out of time on the elevator, could not get my couch out (well they did try and put a hole in the door in the process). It find it funny how the couch got in but they could not get it it! Once we load the truck it was 2:00pm (I had the other elevator at the new condo only till 2, thankful no one esle was moving in that day and they gave me more time. I told them to follow me 3 city blocks to my new place which was find until I had to turn at which point they drove past me.....I had to wait for them to come back. Unloading took less time (4:50 pm) and then there was a issue over the bill because I was told by Kim that I could pay by cheque...not so cash or credit + 3%! I tried to tell the men in a reasonable manner how disappointed I was, how unprofessional the company is and how stressful the move was plus the damage to my stuff and door. (in all fairness by 1:30 when they had not even finished one room I did tell them to hurry and I didnt care it stuff got broken because I would have not elevator and lose my deposit ($300) in 15 mins, I believe it was the only thing they really listen to and followed my intstructions. I could go on and on but BOTTOM LINE they were/are unprofessional and I would never recommend them to anyone.
