Worst Cleaning job ever, this is worth the read.

I sent a request on Homestars for a move-in cleaning service, the unit was entirely empty and I needed it cleaned so I could move in. No furniture to clean around. Claudette reached out to me. We set an appointment to meet and everything was going well. She did a walkthrough, outlined everything that they would get done in their deep clean. She mentioned that they would clean the insides of the cabinetry, the walls, deep clean the carpet, powerwash the balcony etc.. I was sold. She mentioned that there would be 2 cleaners, she may be included and the job would take 3 hours. This gave me the expectation that the deep clean would be an efficient job.

On the day of the cleaning they texted me and let me know that they would be late. Which is fine. I brought them up to the unit, let them know I was not going to watch them because I trusted them. My mistake was trusting... Halfway through I noticed there were marks on the walls and Claudette let me know that they would disappear. At around 1:30pm I came to check in and they were still cleaning but were letting me know that they had to leave soon because they had another client. I noticed the marks on the walls were still there, the balcony was untouched and the vent in the bathroom was gross. I asked her about it the issues and he response was very vague and rushed. The bathroom vent was an extra charge because they needed to move the ladder into the bathroom.. the balcony needed more work but they had another client so she was going to wash the floors and leave. This upset me.. the cabinetry still had dirt in the corners, the walls looked like they just cleaned where they saw dirt and left the rest.. I ran my finger against dirt on the wall and it came off on my finger.. I voiced my unhappiness and she went through and rushed to clean the balcony and walls.

I was happy afterwards when she mentioned they would give me a 10% discount considering the cleaning job.. Then I actually looked through the unit.. If something was sold to you as a deep clean you have certain expectations... to which I was very lenient. The closet in the front was untouched there was still dirt and garbage on the floor, cabinets above the arm span of the cleaner were untouched, drawers had a wipe over but there was still dirt and crust in the corners, the walls were cleaned in some spots and dirty in others, underneath the microwave was DISGUSTING; it had a layer of grease on it. There were still cobwebs on the bottom of the kitchen counters by the floor, a layer of white crust left in the tub and the walls, and yes there were still leaves on the balcony.

I took videos and pictures of the unit showing them all the issues that they left and asked for my money back since I had to reclean EVERYTHING myself. She dug her heels in, told us there was no way we could get our money back and kept telling me that she apologized that the cleaning didn't meet OUR standards. Yet, I don't believe that they met anyone's standards of Deep Cleaning. She kept coming up with excuses, trying to blame my unhappiness on my standards. She then stated they didn't meet her standards and her justification was that her actual cleaners were unavailable and she would come back to clean. This is the point where I was heated, I don't trust this woman's word and don't trust her in my home after I've moved in. I've also cleaned everything myself so what is the point? She was willing to complete the job and run to another job without cleaning the unit properly so what makes her trustworthy? If she had actually cared about the quality of work and state of the unit she could have prefaced it multiple times during the day. And even stated afterwards that it didn't meet standard and she would return. Unfortunately, she didn't mention this to me, nor follow up afterwards in hopes that, that cleaning job was good enough. I wish I took before and after pictures just to show how much the unit hadn't changed. Unfortunately, we were pressed for time and had to clean it ourselves so we could move our furniture in.

The only thing that I was happy with was the fact that they cleaned the fridge and the carpet. Which was about 5% of the entire unit... and I paid extra for the carpet cleaning, those were the only two things that she could come up with when asking me if I was happy with which does not equate to the entirety of the cost of cleaning. Overall, they were late, they were there for 6 hours and basically nothing got cleaned properly, it was a lazy job and they have no integrity when it comes to their work. If you hire them I would say to watch them the entire time and determine EXACTLY what they're expectations are, because clearly DEEP CLEAN DOES NOT MEAN DEEP CLEAN.
