Roof leak repair on flatroof

Contacted the owner at Universal Contracting, he inspected the leak inside my house and arranged a roofer to have a look few days after. The roofer suggested one layer of torch membrane to create a new valley between my shingled roof and a flat roof extension with. After the membrane was on, it rained heavily and the leak came back. It was in January by then so little can be done. On a warmee day the same roofer came to inspect his work and checked if there were punctured on my shingles however nothing can be idenified so the roofer resealed the joints of where he thinks would have caused a leak. A few days later it rained again and puddles of water leaked through my house and then it snowed. The owner from Universal Contracting said he would need to do more testing in order to locate the leak and this would happen when it becomes warmer.

By March nothing is heard from the guy so I ended up calling another team of roofers recommanded from a friend who hired them before. They identified that the one layer torch membrane was not enough, it should've extended at least 5 feet above the valley with other types of sheething underneath to fully prevent a leak. Shingles were pulled back to reveal the plywood under for inspection. I replaced my entire roof to metal roofing on top of the new torch membrane from the new roofers. Now there is no more leak after some heavy rain.

Company Response

Hi Derek
I am sorry for inconvenience caused.
I was out of town for some time and intended to pass by for check next week.
Of course the best solution was to replace the whole roof, however we were under impression you want to proceed with local repair, which appeared to be quite complicated due to location of damaged area.
I am sure we would find the reason.
Best
