Refused to return $2200 deposit

I would never use Plumber on Demand. They have refused to return a $2,200 deposit I made two weeks ago despite several requests. On March 31st they quoted me $4500 for a water tank replacement. I made a deposit. They subsequently doubled the quote at which point I cancelled the contract. I have asked for my deposit back several times and there has been no response whatsoever. Reliant subsequently replaced the tank at a much lower cost than Plumber of Demands first quote. I now have to sue them to get my money back. What kind of business is this?
