Booked a Chimney inspection as a fireplace had not been used in years and a sweep to clean it. It would be safe to assume with the first service booked being the inspection and secondarily, the add on of the sweep, that the inspection would be done first then the sweep.
No where on the website does it indicate anything about 'best practice' of doing the sweep first when both are booked. I have reviewed the inspection section and sweep section. If the sweep was used as a 'diagnostic' tool when booked with an inspection and therefore done BEFORE the inspection, it should comment to that so the customers are informed. So the inspection deemed the fireplace inoperable. If I booked just the inspection, the sweep would have been 0. As I booked the sweep secondary to the inspection, I was charged full price for something I feel should not have been done as it was determined the fireplace needed repair. MONEY GOUGING AT ITS FINEST. I emailed the company who offered nothing. In addition, one of the technicians told the home owner that they do the sweep first cause the 2nd guy at the site "would have nothing to do if they did the inspection first" !!!! so to enter the home, look at the fireplace, do the sweep, complete the inspection and send a report ---- took 25 minutes ?!?!?!? also I did not get the inspection photos promised on their website. Stay clear or be ripped off !
