May be knowledgeable about the work, but isn't a man of his word
Bob came to my condo in the King St. W area after I had seen his paper flyer on a newspaper pole. I was looking for someone to do some minor repairs around the unit that I was renting and he seemed to be right there. The first time I reached out to him, he took so long to give me a proper response to what I needed done. This was back in June. In November, I decided that the items I needed fixed were getting on my nerves, so I decided to reach back out to him.
It was such a pain trying to find a date and time for him to come in and access the work to be done. When we finally agreed on a date, he came in and was able to help me... only halfway mind you. I blame myself for not fully checking the work done to be honest, but in anycase, he had said that he needed $100 for coming out. I said I understand as I am also a service provider. I sent him an Interac eTransfer for the $100. He told me that he'll come back and fix the other items as he didn't have his tools. I said that'll be fine. This was November 6. Today it's December 10, 2021. He hasn't responded to any of my texts or emails.
To myself I said, "maybe my job is too small for him to come out.". So, the only thing that I asked him to provide me with was at least a receipt for the payment that I made to him so that I could provide it to my condo building. A simple receipt, that's all I'm asking for. Bob won't get back to me regarding this.
I don't think that if for such a small job as mine that he can't keep his word, I don't know what he'll do with much larger jobs. As such, I would advise you to look the other way when you see his ads around town. It's not worth it, trust me.
