Do not use this company. I was told before requesting the service that 1) the problem would be diagnosed by the serviceman and I would be given a quote for what the charge would be and if I decided to have the work performed the cost of the service (house) call of $79.00 would be waived. 2) the web-site where I found the number for this retailer indicates workmanship and parts will be guaranteed for 1 full year.
The serviceman came and completed the repair with a used (not new) part. He did not give me a quote as to what the cost would be he just
completed the repair. He stated that because the part was used he would not charge me for the part. The charge for 1/2 hour of work, to replace a thermostat, was $175.00 less 10% for a coupon I had. I waited until I received the invoice via e-mail because I suspected that the house call charge had not been waived since surly 1/2 hr work would not cost $175.00 of labor only. I received only a charge statement not a detailed invoice as I had hoped. I telephone the company with my concern and they stated they would talk to the serviceman and call me back. I did not receive a call back so I called again the next day. I was told that they do not charge by the hour but by the job. I said that they had installed a used part and so I believe the cost was too much considering it took only 1/2 hour. They replied not to worry as parts and labor were guaranteed for 3 months. I said what do you mean 3 months, I have a copy of your web-site with your phone number that states the guarantee is for 1 full year. They replied that that was a corporate guarantee not a local franchise one which is only 3 months. I said I don't care I have a copy of a page from your web-site with your phone number which is what I used to solicit your work, that indicates on the same page the warranty is parts and labour for 1 full year. I said so you have now done the repair for which I was not given a quote for, and used an old part not a new one, and will only honor that repair for 3 months. Thay replied yes that is what we will honor. I said if this repair does not last the full year I will be seeing you in court and hung up.
