The hydronic heating system in my detached home office (early 90s) had failed repeatedly because the (now discontinued) Poly-B piping allows oxygenation. Online search for expert help led to Dan Walker, who replaced the boiler in the fall of 2014. Dan's work was exemplary; so we were very surprised when the boiler failed again a year later.
Unfortunately, the replacement boiler was not stainless (as he thought and told me); on closer inspection of the specs, we discovered that only the burners were stainless, so it was incompatible. Using that boiler would require a stainless steel plate exchanger to separate the boiler loop from the Poly-B. Not only had Dan missed it, his supplier had as well even though he had clearly identified the Poly-B.
Still, Dan accepted responsibility, and we not only worked out a plan for a fair fix. Then, when it turned out that his estimate to install the plate exchanger was a bit high, he LOWERED the price to reflect the honest number! I paid no more than would have been required to do it right the first time.
If I ever need this kind of work again, I will be calling ATM and Dan, and I highly recommend them.
