I've never written a review before, and it's not my intention to smear the reputation of someone, however it's not right to promise people excellent results while producing sub-par results at best.
Ben English has some excellent ideas at spending your money, with extremely poor results. He's unreliable, shows up whenever he feels like it and leaves your project unfinished for weeks while he attends other projects, failing to let you know when he'll be back. When he finally contacts you, he demands payment in full before he finishes the work. After payment, he still takes weeks to show up to finish. The work was finally completed, however it wasn't long (only 4 months) before the slate work he did chipped, broke and fell apart, like we knew it would. He placed slate on, and along the sides of the porch. Soon large pieces of slate began to fall off, that was how we noticed he used very small dots of glue to hold heavy pieces of slate on the sides of the porch, and did not complete the work with grout, saying that 'you cannot grout vertical tiles'!! He promised over and over that he'd come back to fix it, but he never did come back. Bottom line is, if he had done the work properly in the first place, he wouldn't have to come back. He has some good ideas, with no idea how to execute those ideas. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone.
