My roofing contractor moved the installation date up because of leaks to the house. I tried to reach the general contractor that I hired to build my workshop project, that started September 2013, to ask him to please finish the roof and fix his code violations but, as usual, he would not respond to emails, phone calls or text messages.
I was desperate and decided to look online (This site). The two reputable contractors I called could not do this job on such short notice. Beaudrie Customs was available but only had 1 review that could have been family for all I knew. In the end, they were the right guys for the job. They mentioned the code violations and offered to rebuild it from the ground up for $1200 + material if I would disassemble it. The roof was half done at this stage. I agreed and took it down in 5 1/2 hours (thank God I had everything screwed)
They worked throughout each day without taking lunch. (I just had to feed them though because I was worried about hypoglycemia - being a paramedic)
They put in sauna tubes and rebuilt the structure in 5 days and added the plywood walls, inserted doors and windows, and did house wrap at no extra charge. They cleaned and organized the site at the end of each day and were very polite to my family.
I was so pleased with their work and the time-line they did it in that I gave them a little something extra to show my appreciation.
They are a younger up and coming company but I know that they will be in demand before long. I have already referred two potential clients to them that witnessed their work, and I will be using them again to redo my interlock driveway, electrical on the workshop and possibly staining my deck and fencing.
I'm not sure if this job was under-priced, but Daulton and Will (Partners) were true to their word and the good old handshake agreement we had was a true demonstration of their character and integrity that has lead to the respect I have for these young men. They helped me out with a difficult situation and I will be forever grateful to them and Kelson (Labourer) for that. "Ganbatte ne" Just keep going!
