My back garden was totally overgrown. Dutchstyle did a complete overhaul with the addition of a dry bed, small water feature, shrubs and perennials. We love it- the birds love it too.

Jon may be good with large jobs, but our small job was a disappointment. Stones on the patio look nice, but workmanship poor. Privacy fence and gate built Incorrectly, new gate left dragging on the new stone walkway. Unable to cone back and fix according to Jon. We had a real fencing company come in this spring and erect the second privacy fence , rebuild a new gate, and replace the warped wood jons crew left in place the year before. Fencing company was appalled at the poor workmanship on the fence. Patio dimensions built incorrectly. Polymeric sand turned black with moss growing in areas. We are sorry we hired for the job and would never recommend. Poor cleanup when the job was done . Wanted us to scrub the wetsaw grime off our bricks with some acid instead of doing it themselves.

I hired Dutchstyle to replace cracked cement stairs and cement surrounding my old Victorian house house in downtown Toronto. Jon was a great guy and persuasive, but the workers who did the work created a number of problems that resulted in basement leaks in three places, as well as leaving a cracked cement stair riser and roughly cut an old cement support to the porch that looks terrible. Unfortunately I paid them in full and, although I sent photographs to show Jon what was unfinished, I haven't heard back from him since June. I have since paid to install a professional window well to fix one leak, and it looks like I will have to hire other stoneworkers to fix the other two problems. One is a 1-inch lip that causes water to pool at the side of the house and seep into the basement, the other a 12" square that was just filled with polysand. Jon has never returned since giving me the quote, nor has he returned to inspect the work. So he may be great with really big $500K jobs or those in suburbs, but not for downtown. I paid $10,000 job for @200 square feet which I think is more than reasonable. The stone that was laid looks good, but it also left me with serious problems and I now have to hire others to fix them.

Have been working with John & his crews for several years on a very large scale redesign of a century farm we purchased 4 years ago. Of all the contractors I met with John was the only one to appreciate the scale and direction we wanted to go.
He understands what I'm looking for & is very easy to work with. He has been able to help me directly with the vast majority of my projects & issues. Looking forward to continuing our work in 2014.

We hired Dutch Style to help transform our new backyard. Jon is amazing, and helped us from the design stage right to the end including meeting our budget limitations. His team very professional and delivered what they said they would. Jon’s team provided our new walkway for the entire back yard from the gate to the hot tub and to the shed. Our backyard had been neglected by the previous owners for many years, so by the time we moved in we were overwhelmed at what needed to be done to maximize the appearance, healthy growth and functionality of our backyard space.
From start to finish, working with Dutch Style Landscaping was a pleasant experience. Jon listened to our family's needs, as well as to our budget limitations. He took into consideration what kind of plants would work for our yard, as well as the amount of maintenance it would require in the future (I am not much of a gardener). He even created a pretty little flagstone "fairy garden" area for our girls to enjoy. I appreciated Jon's knowledge and expertise as he patiently answered all of our many questions and provided us with a timeline for completion, which his highly competent crew adhered to. After the work was completed, I was advised on what care was needed for the new plants and Jon showed me how I could add plants on my own over time, if I wanted to expand on what had been started.
Overall, we were very pleased with our stress-free experience of working with Dutch Style Landscaping. I truly felt that I could trust Jon with our family's vision and needs, which he and his crew turned into a beautiful backyard retreat. I would happily refer Dutch Style Landscaping to friends and family.

Dutch Style Landscaping came to do some trimming and weeding in my unruly, overgrown garden last summer. The staff were not only prompt, polite, and hardworking, but they also gave me some great advice for future upkeep of my property.

In just a few hours they got so much done! They trimmed back overgrown bushes, transplanted some of my perennials, weeded flowerbeds densely populated by weeds, and spread cedar mulch as requested. It gave me a taste of the benefits of hiring a professional landscaping company - even for an avid gardener such as myself.
