Did not disappoint! Contractors did a fantastic job. The job started and finished on schedule and Simon did a great job of keeping me updated on the process. I was extremely pleased with the care taken to clean up thoroughly after their work each and every day. I am so pleased with our staircase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend SB Hardwood!

We found SBHardwood through homestars based on the great ratings. We decided to contact them for an in home quote. Simon came in to our home a provided a quote. We had met with other contractors but felt uneasy with many of them. Simon guaranteed us he could do the job and had done several similar successfully. He showed us pictures of his work and we felt comfortable booking with him. We booked in early march and had to wait till end of august as he was fully booked. He was worth the wait. simon and his team were extremely professional. They provided Excellent workmanship. Started and completed the job on schedule as promised. We even decided to add the rifinish of steps and railing leading to laundry on the last day and they did it right away. He helped with material selection and purchase of the hardwood flooring. Came by multiple times to show us samples. We had concerns about matching the stain of the stairs to the hardwood floors we purchased and it was a near perfect march. Excellent work ethics. SB Hardwood company did amazing job in my previous house and house where I leaving now. This company is extremely professional with incredible attention to details. I am very picky and I had hard time to choose right product for my house. Simon was incredible patient and helpful. There were always on time, energetic , hard working and honest team - best contractor what we hired in past .I couldn't be happier. My floors and stairs look amazing I truly recommend this company. Simon and his crew did a fantastic job with our flooring project! They showed up exactly when they said they would, they took one day less to complete the project than expected and they were tidy and respectful of my home. Simon was always prompt to respond to any email questions and was very helpful in recommending places to shop for flooring and solving any dilemmas we had about the project. These guys are pros and we recommend them to anybody looking to hire a flooring contractor!

My wife and I recently purchased a 3-storey townhouse. The top two floors (and connecting staircase) were covered by carpet that had clearly suffered through pets and smoking from the previous owners. The final project plan was to get someone to remove the carpet, install new hardwood, and cap the staircase with new treads/risers. In addition to all this, we wanted to refinish the remaining elements of the capped staircase (stringers), as well as refinish the entire main staircase, and have both staircases match the newly installed hardwood. We also wanted new posts and iron pickets.

Enter SB Hardwood Stairs and Flooring… after a number of quotes from different folks, we decided to choose Simon and his team. They seemed very down to earth, they saw our vision and told us what we could and could not do, and the lines of communication were always open. There was quite a lead-time before the project started (~6 months), but it was definitely worth the wait.

The team was ready to go every morning at 8am sharp, as they said they would be. They worked through the house with care and attention to detail. In places where some issues popped up, they took the time to make suggestions and guide a decision on a workaround. The job was finished on time and within budget. After the job was completed, we noticed one doorstopper was missing. While it’s something we could have easily taken care of, Simon told us that it’s not something that should be missed, and personally made the trip out to take 30 seconds to install a new one.

We are so happy with our new floors and staircases. We have already told Simon that we will be calling back his team to take care of the flooring on the main level when we decide to pull the trigger on the adjacent kitchen renovation.

Simon and his Team (lovely Dad, Paul and Ziggy) did an AMAZING job renovating our "Scarlett O'Hara" style staircase.

Excellent work, clean and tidy. It was a pleasure to work with Simon, his lovely dad and Ziggy. What a great group of guys. They were on time and schedule.

Our 20 year old carpet needed replacing, and we got a quote from Simon. The stairs were the main issue, as they have 2 landings, and run from the basement all the way up to the first floor (3 stories).

Simon assured us that he could refinish the existing handrails/newel posts, install new stairs and landings, and match the stain to the flooring we chose.

Simon was booking 6 months in advance, but we decided to go with him as we had other redecorating to do first.

It was worth the wait! Simon, his dad and the rest of the team did an outstanding job. The new staircase is beautiful, and the custom stain matches the flooring we chose (white oak) perfectly. Simon also replaced our old baseboards, and touched up any paintwork.
Note: the baseboards Simon provided are primed, not painted, so we got our painters back to paint them. Not a big deal (we had just repainted), but worth knowing.

Simon was very responsive, and always answered our e-mails and
phone calls promptly.

The results are outstanding. We are so pleased with our new floors and staircase. I would highly recommend Simon and his team.
