Replaced one main breaker and a plug
Over charged.
Toronto Hydro came and advised to replace defective main breaker for odd/part power. When called Mark at Burton Electric Inc., he didn't say need to pay service call or different from estimation.
Service call - $50
Trouble shoot and replace breaker - $100
100 amp breaker - $100
A plug - $80
Small job permit - $75

Sorry but I do not have a record of this work. If you would like to contact me directly, we can discuss your concerns and as well as where and when this job took place.
However, if we responded to a Toronto Hydro safety concern that your main breaker was failing, the minimum charge of $150.00 is quite reasonable given that this includes two hours of labour and travel time for two electricians, along with a fully equipped vehicle delivered to your home to make the repair.
The cost of the main breaker feeding your whole house ($100.00 for a two pole 100 amp breaker) is the cost of the part. This is a reasonable price for this type of part.
Unfortunately, Burton Electric Inc has no control over you having to pay for an electrical permit from the Electrical Safety Authority of Ontario (its the law) as well as the provincial and federal taxes.
If we responded, restored power to your home, made it safe, and provided additional work all for $300, you have received very good service at a very good price. We are not part of Toronto Hydro and do not provide our services for free.
This would definitely not warrant scoring us a 0. You could have easily said no to the work, as well as the additional work requested of an addition plug.
