Mr. Interlock Landscape & Construction

We have used Mr. Interlock in 2012 to do a large landscape project for us and it turned out terrific. Amir, Chris and the team were easy to work with and come highly recommended. It was a no brainer for us to use them again when it came time to do a walkway at a rental property we own. They were quick, diligent and my neighbours loved them. They are my go to landscapers!

Hired Mr. Interlock in Nov 2018 for the following jobs: interlock patio and interlock side pathway which was done well, to install new Kentucky Blue grass sods on the east side and 2 garden plots on both sides of my backyard. During winter, I can’t see the new sods and the 2 new garden plots. After snow gone, in early spring, the sods look patchy, grass didn’t grow evenly even though I sprayed Golfgreen Bio-feed & Weed free fertilizer once every month. The 2 garden plots don’t have enough soil
depth for roots to establish. The sods & garden soils were weed infested.
I removed the black tarp from the garden plots so I can fill it with good
quality soil & that’s when I found out the terrible job that was
done. On the west side garden plot, there’s 3 meters long, 4 inches wide
wide, 6 inches deep of canal. No garden soil filled in the canal. They just
covered it with black tarp, then filled it with one-inch depth of soil on
top of the tarp. There’s also a big, wide & deep hole, with some gravel
dumped into the wide hole, then covered it with tarp, and an inch depth
of soil on top of the tarp.
This is a follow up of my first review & to adjust the rating that I gave to
Mr Interlock with fair consideration on the job well done of the interlock
patio & interlock of the side pathway.
On Aug 3, Amir came over to see the issues I mentioned in my first
review. I much appreciated Amir’s efforts to reach feasible resolution
to all issues. As I had mentioned earlier in my review, the interlock jobs
on the patio and side pathway was done beautifully. In this aspect, it’s
fair that I shld give Mr Interlock better rate of 8 instead of 3 broken
down as follows: 5 for interlock job, 3 for sods & garden plots. We had
reached the following resolutions: additional excavation of the west
side garden plot & fill it with at least 5-6 inches depth of garden soil at
no extra cost charges. Removed the installed sods & replace it with new
sods, cost not yet determined by Amir. I decided to extend the patio
interlock all the way to the front of the shed, which cost hasn’t been
determined yet. Over all, Amir will give me cost estimate of additional
interlock & installation of new sods on the east side of my house. Once
these resolutions would be done nicely, there’s no reasons why I
wouldn’t give Mr Interlock a perfect 10 conditional on the completion of
the resolutions both me & Amir had agreed upon. For now, I just wait &
see if these resolutions will be done sooner than later. I’m planning to
have my front yard landscaped next year. If Mr Interlock will do a good
job on these resolutions, I might reconsider of re-hiring them again with
renewed trust because Amir has that conscientious efforts to do better in
meeting client’s satisfaction

Jan 13, 2020 - Updated Review on Mr. Interlock Landscape

This is a follow up of my 1st review given to Mr Interlock Landscape in
May 2019. Amir & I discussed issues that were my concerns of the job done. The resolutions are: continuity of the interlock stones all the way to the shed, excavation, removal & replacement of the garden soil on the 3 garden plots, removal & replacement of the patchy sod with Kentucky bluegrass. I’m deeply grateful to Amir & his crews for making my project a priority in resolving all my concerns, in satisfying & meeting my expectations. With this I highly recommend Mr Interlock for being a reliable, dependable & responsible company, who cares of their clients.

Great job by Amir and his crew. Very happy with the results. They adhered to their schedule and budget and were very communicative throughout the project. Also respectful of the neighbours and left nothing for me to clean up. Will be looking at them to do my backyard project when I am ready.

Company principal and project manager Amir was fabulous to work with from beginning to end of project.Amir provided good advice on our overall landscape design and stone colour/pattern choices.Amir kept his word on all deliverables timing and kept within agreed to budget.He is a good listener and was always patiently receptive to small changes in project scope as work went along.He treated us very fairly on pricing in general and scope changes in particular.Amir is very hands on and personally visited multiple times as project developed to keep track of progress.Amir is not happy until you are happy.

Chris was our job site manager.His attention to detail, eye for design and construction knowledge produced a result we are very pleased with.Chris builds things to last and cuts no corners on foundation materials or design layout.He to is a great listener, patiently listens to your ideas and explains what can be done to meet any reasonable request.His work ethic and commitment to doing a great job is amazing.

Every employee we dealt with from Mr Interlock appeared fully committed and engaged on our project.We engaged Mr.Interlock because of their Homestars ratings.The ratings are true and this company is the real deal.You will not be disappointed.We are getting compliments from all our neighbours and complete strangers who are just walking by.
Work Done:
-New asphalt driveway with stone border and low wall on each side from garage to street.Plus stone border across top by garage doors.
- New stone front steps(bordered) and walkway.
- One large capped stone garden box across front of porch plus a small capped stone box at front and side of main box.
-Repaired a concrete overhang on our porch lip.Then covered this area and our entire porch in a beautiful thick slate stone with mortared joints.
- Filled garden boxes with topsoil and replaced lawn sod where damaged by construction.
- Re-routed garage roof eves trough downspout to a newly constructed French drain in our front lawn.

.Site manager and Amir’s partner Chris produced a wow factor job for us that we could not be happier with.

We previously had Mr. Interlock do waterproofing and refurbishing of our porches at our old house and we had since moved 4 years later. When it came time to work on the driveway and landscape of our new house I called Mr. Interlock again without hesitation.

I was so confident in their work that I did not bother quoting with anybody else. The team was professional and courteous and patient with my requests and questions. And most importantly their work is second to none.

I highly recommend Mr. Interlock for your landscaping needs. I’ll be calling them again for projects to come in the future!

Love these guys!! They did our front interlock steps and path a few years ago and we are still happy with the results and have had no issues.
Without a second thought, we called them back this year to do our backyard project! Interlocking patio, steps and flower bed. They were punctual on their start date, worked hard everyday and finished the job on schedule! Amir and Chris are very helpful with selecting design and materials. Their crew are very polite and they clean up after their job! There have been a few houses in the neighbourhood that have had their projects done by Mr. Interlock!

Amir and his team did an amazing job. Amir coordinated the project with myself and my neighbor, he helped us pick the pavers and explained each step of the project. The installation team was very helpful, efficient and friendly. I have received so many compliments on my walkway and steps down to my back garden. The whole process was totally painless.

Amir and Chris’ team did a wonderful job! The job scope included resetting the front driveway interlocking, interlock extension with large garden planters in the backyard and lots of new sod. We live on a busy midtown street and the team was able to mitigate the constant flow of traffic and their large equipment, while also being very respectful to our neighbors. The line of communication with our foreman, Saad and PM Amir was always wide-open and I was also kept up-to-date with project status and any issues that arose. The team was very helpful with other vendors that had to be incorporated (i.e. irrigation install and A/C removal/install). There were no corners cut and all work was done properly (if anything over-engineered, which is great!). Their pricing was fair and although they were not the lowest bid, I am confident they were the best choice for such a large job. I highly recommend Mr. Interlock and am already thinking of the next renovation project they can work on for next year.

Those guys did excellent job. Speed, quality and service. My new driveway looks great. They proposed different types of stone and helped choosing the best one for my place.I recommend them.
