Drywall and siding

Was told the remainder of my siding and all the drywall would be completed in 2 weeks. It was 6 weeks in before he said it was done and ready for paint. There was glaring difficiencies in the drywall in every room bubbles on all the seams upstairs, over a dozen screw pops. Inproperly sanded lines were visable everywhere. My staircase to the second floor had a single coat of mud on it (noticed after it was primered and the tape peeled off the corner). A over my two sliding glass doors the seams cracked in less than a week. The seam above the window in the master cracked 2 days later. The seam in the office same thing. The boarders he hired in were the worst. They buried 4 recepticles, 2 octagon boxes for smoke detectors, 2 octagon boxes for lights in my bathroom, and a light switch. There was entire sheets of drywall that could be pushed in an inch due to lack of screws. Corners were left unsanded and seams in places were so rounded you couldn't cut in. Outside the work was not entirely finished. At one point he pulled the worker off the job for over a week to go do another job somewhere else. We ended up hiring his worker who was so disgusted with his bad management style and his nickle and diming of his own employee that he was happy to take a job where he knew he would get paid promptly and fairly.

He insisted his job was the most perfect thing ever and he was the best drywaller in the company. Obviously if he's "the best" I'm not telling him to come in for repairs. I called another drywall company who quoted nearly $8000 to repair all the damaged areas and repaint. On top of that, that 4 weeks cost me nearly $10,000 in unexpected overhead and I still need to pay someone to complete the job outside.

When he came to collect the remaining $7500 for the job he was told he wouldn't get anything until we got an estimate on repairs. If there was anything left over he would get paid. He told my elderly father he was on drugs. He also threatened him saying he'd pay alot more than the quote if he didn't pay up for his awful work.

This job was as bad as I've seen. A new construction house with new framing and straight walls is now a mess. I wouldn't hire him again to drywall a doghouse!

I've included just a few of over 100 documented photos.

Worst experience ever

Contrary to the Facebook rating of this business, our experience with Monro drywall was awful. Given the size and scope of the project we hired Munro for, we expected better customer service than we got especially when we were not satisfied with the quality of work, inconsistent availability of the workers, poor project management and dishonesty from the proprietor himself. Our project was left incomplete and poorly done. When we expressed our dissatisfaction and concerns the proprietor sent us a personally attacking and unprofessional email. We have hired a number of wonderful, skilled, professional and respectful trades to complete our project and thankfully never encountered another trade like Munro.
