Stay away from AGM. STAY AWAY FROM AGM!

On our kitchen reno journey, we had: a sales manager, THREE design managers, THREE project managers, a district manager, a general contractor, a kitchen manager, two electricians, and two cabinet installers. The ONLY reason why were giving AGM 1 star is because a couple of the contractors that worked on our kitchen renovation were personable and professional.

Let me begin with AGM EXCLUSIVE OFFERS, as proudly advertised on their website. Specifically: Quoted Price Guarantee, Timeline Guarantee, and 5-Year UNLIMITED Warranty.

Quoted Price Guarantee No hidden fees, no hidden prices: what you see is what you pay. We will absorb all additional costs (not you)! What they omit to inform you is that if a needed change/repair is on their lengthy exempt list (found on page 28 of their 30 page contract), then this guarantee is nullified. RESULT: We had to pay an additional $4000+ for electrical upgrades and drywall repair.

Timeline Guarantee To show our commitment to completing your project on time, we will commit to pay $100.00 for every business day we are late. As long as you don't make changes to your project scope/selections during the renovation, we commit to $100/business day. With our project, SOMEONE made changes without our authorization. After much debate and a reluctant compromise, it was claimed that WE changed the scope of the project and therefore nullified the guarantee. RESULT: it TRIPLED the timeline. We spent over THREE months without a kitchen. To this day, no one has taken ownership of the unauthorized change.

5-Year UNLIMITED Warranty ...it covers 100% of everything we do In reality, it actually comes at a cost. A deposit to be more exact. A deposit of $350. IF the needed work IS under warranty, then the deposit is returned. If it is not considered under warranty, then AGM keeps the $350. And this warranty also comes with a lengthy exempt list. Am I the only one that thinks that is completely ridiculous? I can get a contractor to come in and give me a FREE estimate on any kind of project, but AGM feels entitled to MORE money on a paying customer? Given my experience, I would not doubt they would find some loophole to justify keeping the deposit. The 5-year warranty is worthless.

There were so many hiccups and aggravating moments along the three months. For example, how the THIRD project manager thought it was appropriate to come into my home unannounced to do a final inspection WITHOUT me being there. Someone, by the way, was assigned in the final days of the project. What exactly was she inspecting?

So, let me repeat, save your money and your sanity and stay away from AGM!
